Does this mean the proletariat have seized the means of production
What in the? This is a strange purchase. Spellbreak isn't that successful. Looking at some of their past works the stream raid one is the only one I saw get any attention online. Their record isn't the most impressive. I don't get the reason for the purchase. I assume it's somehow going to be profitable but... how exactly? I'm not seeing it immediately like the obvious advantages that came with KING or VV. Do they just need manpower because DF needs to be done and it needs to be done quick? Considering the deadline they are staring down (assuming they are too stubborn or corporate red tape makes it too difficult to delay) are they just trying to power through by increasing the team by such a large amount less than 6 months from release?
Considering that studio's own track record? They're a perfect fit for modern Blizzard.
Didn't Blizz just fire 100s of people, now they hired 100s back..What
Great. even more deterioration of classic art and animation style incoming.
Beautiful, exactly what was needed!
Spellbreak had unique flight mechanics and spell mechanics so we might see a bit of that in wow. Spell abilities had weight to it in that game and flight was powerful it felt like you were forcing yourself through the air so it will be neat if the new flying style is similar.
It'll take a while to train them up and get them used to WoW's development toolkit. A similar thing happened during MoP and we got WoD out of it. I fear for the Dragonflight patch cycle, but hopefully they use these guys as 'extra' content developers for a bit. Have them do small things like the questlines 9.2.5 brought. It'd be nice to get more news about the Azeroth we actually care about while we're stuck on yet another Island.
