Does Inspiring just prevent CC or does it do other things? Its not very easy to tell at a glance in dungeons! And yay, no Tyrannical and Bolstering!I wonder why Blizzard let Bolstering have such high numbers and be so permanent (in combat). One stack of Bolstering and all the mobs effectively get Fortified. Storming will be interesting, but hopefully not too punishing on melee. Spiteful was very bad 2 weeks ago. Last week was tough generally. Hopefully this week will be a bit more melee friendly.
My opinion, but I think there is too wide a disparity in the challenges presented by affixes weekly. Some weeks are just hell while others are like "lol don't stand in bad". We'd see greater participation in keys if the affixes were more consistent and didn't present such a challenge on some weeks over others. I'm not saying dilute it so its ridiculous, just a little more consistency with pairings.
So what is going to happen after the 12 weeks? A new season?
Yes I agree. Some affixes are too punishing for a specific type of class (Spiteful and melee DPS - no quick way to see who is fixated and one swipe can take out over half their health).While some have been nerfed already, like Volcanic. I remember when that would almost one shot you but now it isn't game over.I think affixes should be like bad weather - make the dungeon more challenging without making it so binary with success/fail. Less one shot mechanics from affixes and more constant pressure you have to endure. Bolstering is too strong for example. I know it doesn't make dungeons impossible, but the bolstering buff should not be permanent. If you trigger too much bolstering you should be able to use kiting mechanics to prolong the fight and make it easier. Also bolstered (Tyrannical) bosses = wipe. Necrotic shouldn't be applied on melee hits, because on some mobs it ramps up too fast. Necrotic should come like a wave and apply to the whole group - a bit like quaking. Every minute for 10 seconds everyone sufferings from necrotic. Or something more like that.Spiteful the adds should not all spawn in melee. It would be better if they spawned randomly within 10-15 yards - had a fixed duration, weren't targetable and shoot out missiles that can be dodged. Bursting is too easy to skip with soothe. It would be better if mobs randomly enraged into Bursty mode at any hp level. Or a sliding scale where they progressively get more dangerous with lower hp. I quite like Quaking and Volcanic and Explosive. Those change the way you play just enough to keep things interesting, without making the whole dungeon completely different!Just my thoughts, from someone who tends to go up to +15 for loot and never beyond :)
Tbh i find affixes just straight up annoying, nothing challenging, it's like someone tapping you on the shoulder, except for tyrannical which is not needed in the first place. Even though Last week was punishing for tanks and healers, it was the most fun i've had in M+ as a caster because i didn't have to move every 2 seconds and have to interrupt my casting, after doing a dungeon 50+ times this constant moving shi-t gets boring.Remove everything except for prideful, if people want more of a challenge they can just keep pushing keys indefinitely because you're just punishing certain classes with these affixes by not being picked.
How about a range specific one to punish them for once? Loneliness- anytime you are more than 8 yards from mobs in combat suffer 5% health per second. Yes I am melee and yes I am bitter.
After the 12th week the season will end?
Blizzard have built an expansion that requires kiting to complete high keys (hell, even mid-teens keys on certain weeks.) Then they base affixes around anti-kiting. Not "kiting is harder", but "kiting requires DPS to stop." It's pretty depressing.
Tl;dr, it is a push week if your group's ranged heavy; no or one melee at best. Duo or triple melee groups is possible, but consider you'll be struggling to deal with both inspiring mobs and storms. CC Inspired if necessary and possible, nuke prio targets as there's no death mechanics at all and bosses should be semi-trivial.
Ok but when does Mythic + start rewarding decent loot again?
A bit annoying with storming but seems like a solid week. Should be able to finish ksm and push to 17s and 18s
