Sounds like frost mages gonna be OP still lol
Huh?
I love how people say "damn these changes will make X class so OP"Yeah, because we know how Blizzard is going to change the numbers as well? They can give a class 100% crit chance by default and reduce their damage by 99%, that way they will be doing 2% of their original damage while critting every single attack.
Frost Mage has been having this problem, where the optimal gameplay is not intuitive and sometimes forces the mage to be at a specific range to trigger the most Shatter effect. It was the case in WoD, with the Elemental's channeled ability that proc'ed Fingers of Frost; and with Legion and BfA, with the Flurry effect. This change merely adresses that and makes the Skill Ceilling of the spec lower and more intuitive.
This is probably just a text correction, not an actual change. Frozen never affected non-Frost Mages to begin with.
As a Frost mage One-trick. Frost generally needs more in it. The Nighthold meta was very nice and Elemental interaction during WoD was also nice but in most situations. The only reason Frost was good wasn't because of it's toolkit it was because it was tuned just enough to be better than the other specs. Nyalotha was such a good tier for Frost mage when you look at the boss fights and having stuff to splitting ice and cleave but fire was just too overtuned with bracers and Blaster Master. This change does nothing but lower the skillcap of the spec and makes forst mage players feel less good about what they did during their rotation to fit a frostbolt and icelance in between flurry. (When playing TV Spec). Bring back Deep Freeze. Bring back old TV. Make Focus Magic Baseline. Bring back Water Jet. Give frost more. It needs it.
On the one hand: No #$%^ this was too powerful.on the other hand: Good to see that Blizz is reacting this fast. Nice change of pace from BfA
Just like with the BfA alpha and beta all I see to ”class improvements” are nerfs and downgrades from what we currently have. What happened to the days when classes were actually improved when a new expansion was released, rather than destroying everything that are meaningful class mechanics?
its ok but bring back Deep Freeze pls, all classes have stuns, but mages.
