In the Maldraxxus quests, they says that the Primus has been gone long enough for them to assume he is never returning. This is just speculation on my part, but he seems almost like an immortal figure so he could have been gone for a long time. Add to that that time works differently in the Shadowlands (remember Jaina saying something about feeling like she'd been in the Maw for weeks, maybe longer). For all we know, the Primus could have been missing for centuries or longer in Azeroth time.
Please keep the discussion relevant to the cinematic. Thank you!
The statue of the Primus has 4 fingers on each hand, the runecarver has 5 on each hand. DEBUNKED!
I like the implication that Frostmourne is a sword type. I hope we find out more about mournblades.
If RC is Primus, then why Primus state have 1 less finger
Until we get clarification on how long the Primus has actually not been in Maldraxxus I don't think we can establish if this cinematic does hint more towards him and the Runecarver being the same person or not unless they later explicitly just say they are.The issues of course are the timeline from when the Primus went missing hasn't been properly established, the "warning" he left hasn't been discovered until now and could be anywhere from centuries old to have been made recently, the Runecarver is confirmed having been in the Maw prior to the end of the second war (considering he forges the helmet that Ner'zhul is later stuffed and shackled into at the end of said war) and he knows some sort of "secret" which the Primus doesn't make reference to knowing, he just warns not to let the Jailer reach some nebulous sepulcher.
Things just got a whole lot....complicated
