I'm pretty neutral about this change, but it will probably result in a more fluid experience for new players which WoW really needs right now. I don't get the complaints about how this hurts class immersion, since we haven't visited our trainers or their areas for years, outside of dated class quests that could be skipped without losing anything impactful; Legion class halls kind of replaced that anyways.
Horde gets better, as usualy ...Alliance training house seem incredibly small. :(
Would be awesome to bring back MOP style achievements (DPS,TANK,HEALS) that you would have to accomplish before you can que for RAIDs / Mythic+ Dungeons .. just saying .. not everyone is meant for those
That is a bad decision. Each class had their hub in various parts of each city and new players should be directed there, not to one small barracks where they are all packed. If this place only serves the purpose of talking to an NPC, its better if it leads to dedicated, different areas where they can feel like their class. Better yet, add notable and/or lore characters to these areas, even if they pass there only briefly. Have Alliance Mage pass Jaina in Mage Tower as she helps stabilize portal to Boralus. Have Horde Hunters find Rexxar in the Hunter ring in Valley of Honor. Horde Shaman should find Thrall in Valley of Spirits or Wisdom, and Alliance Paladins should meet Turalyon in the Cathedral. Have the new players get a look at unique characters like Alleria showing superior marksmanship skills, Geya'rah sparring against other warrior champions, etc.Make it memorable and show people that they are unique heroes (even if we know they are not), that their class matters, that they have their own place among others of their kind in the capital city.I felt bad already that Blizzard makes all races go to main capital rather than racial city/district, but putting them all in one barracks? That's just a tremendous disappointment. A Bit Offtopic: So glad I mainly play a Death Knight and a Demon Hunter (tho the latter can't even teleport back to their INTERDIMENSIONAL DEMON-POWERED FLYING BASE - seriously, why Fel Hammer hasn't teleported to Azeroth yet)... Move Acherus and Fel Hammer to float at entrance to Icecrown Citadel, so we're close to the breach in the veil. :)
With both Grant 'Dead' Wood and Pablo Picowsso in their ranks, surely nobody will ever dare call the Horde uncultured again.
Short teaser sounds interesting.I hope blizz expands on the idea. I'd like to come back here every once in a while to do things like class-specific quests and to allow druids to alter the look of their forms!
This is sad. Does Blizz not understand that part of why Classic is so popular is because of the realism and RPG nature of the cities/locations? Why go to the Stormwind cathedral (priests, paladins) now? Just stupid beyond belief
FeedbackReally, what purpose does this serve, considering trainers dont do anything? That said, if trainers do things in SL, then this would be a good change for new players. sort of like a "job fair" style building.Once a player interacts and gets the feel of it though, I agree with above, they should be directed to somewhere with more flavor for the classes "IE priest paladin to cathedral, etc"
I have only been playing a few months but have found zero use for the class trainers. This seems like a waste of time and effort unless they are revamping the class trainers as well.
Class trainers could provide chain quests or some sort of lore-related adventures, rewarding cosmetic weapons, armours, mounts, pets, spell effects ou even spells like paladin contemplation. This would give purpose to the trainers and more flavor to your class.
Hopefully this'll be the start of many more legacy updates. Lord knows the wind riders need some love.
Heck no to castles in Org. I love that we don't appear to like inside as much as Alliance. Why I don't like the portal room or this new trainer museum.
Remember when every class had it's own little area? Pepperidge Farm remembers. This is like when you move into a smaller house and now have to share a room with your brothers
