The second Plunderstorm Creator Royale has concluded, with
Gingi
and
Meeres
and the grand prize of $25,000! Shoutout to all 60 competitors for putting on a great event!
Watch the end of the tense final match on Twitch.tv!
Echoing the
first Plunderstorm Creator Royale event
, Gingi and Meeres claimed victory in a surprise upset. Despite being fourth place in overall points and not getting
any
eliminations in the final game, they cleverly used a tower roof inside of Stromgarde Keep to avoid lightning strikes from the encroaching storm, winning the match and the ultimate victory!
This may be a contentious victory, however, both for the
unique format
, which allows anyone within the top 10 point scores to win the overall tournament by placing first in game 7, and the nature of Gingi & Meeres zero elimination win. Rather than take part in the close quarters slaughterhouse on the ground, Gingi escaped the storm by using another team's
Gnomish Gravity Launcher
to scale Stormgarde Keep, following the example set by second place team Maximum and Trill. While Mes (partnered with the defeated Cdew) ultimately won the ground battle, relentless lighting strikes from the storm proved their demise, while Gingi watched safely from above. While no doubt cheesy, and perhaps even exploitative, there's no denying that it was an ingenuous way of stealing a surprise victory.

Lame way to win, but their Echo players when they weren't defending Josh in Method they're exploiting
Everyone defended Josh because no one had the facts at what was going on - management hid a lot of things from their players so they weren't "distracted". Josh was their longtime friend so of course they defended him when they were fed misinformation from higher-ups.
I agree it's a lame way to win and that they should be disqualified for using a game breaking bug in a tournament but the "defending Josh" comment is wild.

Yall know if Imfiredup did this and won Gingi would be screaming on Twitter trying to get him cancelled
No doubt, but both of these dudes would unplug a family member's life support just to finish charging their phones.
