They should really just remove the weekly timegating. At this point it's a severe detraction from the game, and not a feature. Do a M+? Get a Renown level. Do a calling? Get a Renown. Do the weekly souls quest? Get a Renown always (instead of just as a catchup).

Who cares at this point now that Horde HoF is closed how powerful we are?

Congratulations, you've finished the campaign! Your rewards have been decreased!

Imagine playing Pokemon but you have to wait 1 week between each gym

I'm already bored and i just payed 2 month Y_Y

Ps:Being bored doesn't mean that i have ALL done...it's just that renown doesn't give a lot of things, and it's not that a big of increased damage to have the renown timegated conduit upgrades either

Comment by Kabookiejoe

which means the season will probably end 5 weeks later

Comment by oumura

cant wait for 9.2 in oct 19!

Season ends with a new patch and they confirmed 9.1.5 (not yet on PTR) so maybe a little bit more, just a tiny tiny bit

Comment by Dethrix

Not thrilled with the thought of 8 more "Push the jailers forces back" fill the bar...but if we have a 9.1.5 on PTR or pushing live by then, it's something.

Based on how stuff have been released the last few expansion then we might see 9.2 earliest in Jan 2022. But with the current problems it might even be later.

Imagine playing Mario but you need to wait a week to play every new level.
Imagine playing Call of Duty but you need to wait a week to reload your gun.
Imagine playing Among Us but you have to wait a week between picking an imposter.
Imagine playing Final Fantasy but you need to wait a week to progress on the Main Story Quest.

The last example is just funny. Cause the MSQ in FF is literally the same thing as the Renown story in WoW. The only difference is there is no timegate.
And guess what. People still play the game even without the timegating even though they finished it all.
Imagine that.
If you just make a good game you don't have to worry about retaining subs.

If you could get all the renown at once, it would take you just hours to get it all. Blizzard DEVS, instead of timegating just hours of content for 2-3 months, why don't you make 2-3 months worth of content. Paying $15 a month for this feels like a scam.

Comment by Durgga2

If you just make a good game you don't have to worry about retaining subs.

This is exactly what they should be focusing on. Instead they focus on doing stuff that actively makes the audience moan and complain because they know a large enough portion of players will do it anyway.

Comment by Grothrill

Taking too long with that stupid Renown system.

Comment by Jimbrooks

And the devs wonder why half the playerbase has jumped ship in the last 6 months.

Comment by LeviKazama

i cant understand, what the &*!@ is renown locking you for? like are u pushing to time a 27? cuz mythic is cleared without renow 80, 26s timeds without, so i cant understand what it locks you? like yeah u get a lil more powa, but nothing that significant

Comment by CornbreadPops

Works for me... with renown catch up. If I don't complete the two quest doing a m+ or raid boss will get me caught up.

Ah, the young generation.

Those of us who has been playing since Vanilla will know very well how we had to wait a week to watch the next episode of our favorite TV show. We are also very accustomed to the gradual increase in power instead of going from Super Saiyan 1 to Super Saiyan Blue within one week.

This timegating is very natural to us. It is not a problem at all.

But, of course, that's our generation. Blizzard's handling of the situation is completely misinterpreting what the young generation of today is used to.

With streaming, they don't watch TV anymore and can stream the entire season in one go, without timegating.
With internet remote learning, they don't base their knowledge on only school work, as they can learn anything any time. Instant boost in knowledge power.

In essence, what Blizzard has done wrong with the timegating here is that they ignore the need for instant gratification of today's young generation.

Comment by NiccoloM

That's right.

On one hand, those same people criticize "borrowed power". And then they complain they don't get all the borrowed power in one go.

Good players don't rely on soulbinds and conduits, and renown should be mostly irrelevant to them.

Comment by Mightylorddk

And that is the crux of it. They think what keeps people in game is the mandatory grinds and time gating. THey have no faith in their own game. PVPer's and PVE'ers are still going to do their thing no matter what. If i finish the new raid early great. I can do some older stuff with some alts. Or open some achieves that need work. I would still play if there was no Ttime gating. Gating everything is jsut awful.

BTW...i am not playing and not played since the 6 month expired on SL start. WTS ads not being dealt with was the NUMBER one reason i left. I dont give a toss about boosting as that is not my thing but blizz making me see that stuff drove me bonkers. Bonkers enough to not want to play anymore.

And then what? You burned out and whine about no contents? Blizzard learned a great lesson from people like you in the legion and partially in BFA. SL pacing is good, no rush no nothing. No treatment for the 16 hours long burners. And btw Anise, if you had to stop playing for WTS then I have a bad news for you.
