WoW is dead
Well after reading all the critics, sarcasm, and ignored comments on the forum, you would've thought that they'd do some fix, but no, here's a report of sub loss, and we'll fix it with announcement of new expans to get ppl excited again!*scratch head*btw, the oh so promised flying on draenor's been 2 months already and still not implemented, wonder how long would this expan take.
Quote:"Fury of Hellfire, one of the largest non-expansion content updates to date for World of Warcraft."Absolutely hilarious! Oh, that was a good one. The bean-counters sure have a way of making everything sound so wonderful. I really wish their investors had the common sense to ask something along the lines of "so if you don't count these WoW Tokens though, how many subscribers to we really have?"If they think they can continue to do what they are doing, and blow smoke up the investors behinds... not giving them the full picture of how bad it has really gotten, it's obviously going to go from bad to worse. I'm sorry to say, that this is the first time I am happy to hear that subscriptions are down, as I have un-subbed for the first time since vanilla. I wanted to be a part of that low number - I want heads to roll over at Blizzard, only for the reason so they don't continue on the path they are going and think things are just fine. I really don't know if it's enough to make a difference at this point, as these latest reports still sound too rosy - although maybe someone with some common sense will see what is really going on and ask to see the "real" numbers.Blizzard wanted to be free of Vivendi, but in the end got into bed with Activision. I have no idea what is going on behind closed doors, so I can only speculate, but it sure seemed to be better for Blizzard having Vivendi as the money and Blizzard the creative force behind their products. Now it seems that Bobby Kotick and Activision have made more than financial contributions to WoW; it reeks as if they've had their hands all over WoW's creative direction. Bobby Kotick has been notorious for getting involved in his projects at the creative level, as he's been quite vocal about somehow instinctively knowing what the gaming community wants. It's as if he's saying "My money --- my ideas for my game!" If only the buffoon could just stick to the finances, and let Blizzard do what they DID best: make fun games… I'm almost positive they would see their profits soar (eventually).I haven't lost faith quite yet. Like I said, I am sorry to say, that I AM glad to see that subscriptions are way down again - as this may be the bucket of cold water that they need thrown on them to shock them into the realization that something is seriously wrong with WoW and its current direction. I'll continue to play other games and hope that we will see Blizzard return with a revival of WoW that evokes the kind of sense of adventure and fun I (and I know many others) miss from this once great game. *sniff*
It's time to running a WoW 2.0 project :)
I unsubscribed because I don't find Tanaan and HFC an interesting content. Also, I personally like MoP more than WoD in terms of lore. There is almost no lore in WoD. Panda's had much more interesting story, with ancient territories, titan's relics, scenarios, with politics and war between A/H, with dangerous mantides and mogu, with all those zandalari and Thunder Island (great island! Beautfil and interesting), Sunreavers and Kirin-Thor, all that war near and inside Orgrimmar. Draenor:1) Iron Horde is attacking our world!2) We completely stopped their invasion in several hours, which they were preparing for for 20 years.3) We invaded their own world.4) We defeated Iron Horde here and here, and there (Frostfire, Shadowmoon, etc).5) We attacked and defeated IH's allies, Highmaul Ogres.6) We attacked and defeated IH's blackrock foundry, where they created machines.7) IH is weak and almost defeated. Chief Durotan was overthrown, and Guldan now rules the IH, adding fel and demonic powers to it.8) Well, we defeated them too. THATS ALL! No lore. Just "Iron Horde is our enemy, so we defeat them here and there, and once again, there!" And IH had never any impression of cool, powerful, DANGEROUS enemy, never! since we crushed them so easy, before gaining level 91 for our character.
no wonder theyr giving us the new trailer tomorrow
its sad to see that, alone 4.4 million this x-pac this is huge..if they cant turn the trend quickly, its serious. Numbers will plateau at some point i guess but where? if they continue this way with @#$% content etc and do not start to care again, then it may also disappear in the next couple of years which would be very sad...
Thank goodness the server population is going down, it was getting so crowded in my garrison.*sarcasm*
The problem I have right now is that the gold from running 7 garrisons is just too easy not to keep doing it.I currently have enough tokens and gold for 1 year of game time. I am hoping to never pay real money for this game subscription again. Yes, I know blizzard gets an extra $5 from the token but it's not MY $5I would have likely stopped playing if not for the gold token. Now I simply play to make gold for another token, so I can spend that token to keep subscribed so I can make more gold for another token.
Does the wowToken sales get into this numbers? Because since they got on live i haven't payed a sub with real money.
Its funny, I'm one of the people who have considered quitting the game as well.It took me just under 3 weeks to do everything on Tanaan on my main, even got the predator title by then.So calling this the larges content patch is a lie, take thunder isle, I still don't have all the achievements there.Edit: the only thing that can really justify the lack of open world content is if the portal to Dreanor get destroyed when the expansion ends, and all ties to old Dreanor got severed. That would make sense in a way.
If you are a returned player like me, and want to explore the content you missed. WOW IS A BORING GRINDING GAME. With %1 drop rates on old raids.Same dailies for rep. Repetation. Repetation. I guess i ll stop playing when tokens ends.
Soon it's down for 2M.Blizz please do something. Something serious things.
