I'd be fine with less reliance on addons if the mechanics were either easier to react to or if the damage is nerfed to account for the "unavoidable" portion of a mechanic that'll happen as players react since they won't be able to pre-empt the mechanic/incoming damage.
It's also going to be interesting seeing people get kicked from keys because they're running the wrong dungeon weakaura pack.Raiders have already dealt with the issue of Northern Sky pack vs Liquid Pack vs whatever.. and the solution is simple - use one, delete the other, all the group must all conform & if you don't like it then you can leave. The same thing is going to happen in dungeons if private auras go live.
Separate the good players from players who just do what addons tells them to do, I like it.
Just rip the bandaid off and put all enemy player/mob spells under private auras already. We know that’s what blizz wants, and it completely ends the conversation about combat addons giving players an edge in combat by butchering all of them (Bigwigs, little wigs, weakauras, dbm, gladius, sArena, battleground enemies, etc) except details+logging and peoples’ own ui arrangements. Will give me one less thing to worry about fetching/updating throughout the beginnings of each patch in this game if they just go full tilt on the private auras train.
All complain in here like what the actually hell...I actually like that, but I also agree that they should not over do with private auras. But we all also agree on fact that WA's simply make some mechanics way to trivial :)
Private auras are fine if the mechanic is actually feasible without assignments anyway. The issue is when they do nonsense like Volcanic Heart where you had no time and you had to stand pretty much on pixels or you wipe the group.
Step one: rework your whole UI so people wont have to use them (Nameplates in the first place, but player/target frames are dog too, bigger/smaller characters, detach mana bar, bigger mana/health bar, the ability to remove my model on my player frame, and much morestep two: now you can ban addons. I understand they cant ban this and that meanwhile others are still in (ban raid addons but not UI addons) thats why they should make them good, people who dont want addons to be banned I think afraid of losing UI too much.Designing fights and making 20 interrupts/group in m+ just because "oh they will get help by addons so we have to make fights addon dependant" is really sad.
Requiring a Weakaura for certain fights is lame so I'm glad they're doing this. I just hope Blizzard balances these mechanics out so they aren't tedious AF without them.
Serious 0 IQ move. Let's just make MORE @#$% that requires MORE overly complex macro-driven weakauras, brilliant *!@# Blizzard.
Ewww, makes me wonder what type of mechanics they are adding in M+ that need private auras.
do they even read the feedback?
please dont bliz
good
The people that dislike when the game becomes harder: Were these players ever even pros or did they have a machine do all the thinking/work for them? It's the smarter approach, sure, but not a showcase of skill.
This is a bad idea, no one likes it and its just going to drive people to play less or quit. Raiding has already taken a big hit partially because of this. You'd think you learned your lesson the first time. Don't be idiots.
