I legitimately miss the Domination Shards. Glad they took that idea and mashed it into the Mechagon Punch Card topped with a fun length of time like SL S4 was.
I can't imagine this is even worth it to drop a ring with stats for some procs that probably happen every 90 seconds.
this is just getting worse and worse…
This seems good. a system that will give you something valuable if you want to put the time in, but is totally skippable if you wish.
Just waiting for a stone similar to Trajectory Analysis that can stack upto 99 and give some ridicules dodge ratings to tanks! Will be pretty much BiS regardless of the ilvl 😁Looks like there's something useful for Hunters! They can go for Gleaming Iron Stone to have some decent (not huge) passive defensive or maybe with Desirous Blood Stone. Both of these are weak tho but better than nothing!
If anyone things this is too complicated, simply ignore it. Why put the effort into getting slightly better gear you'll replace when the next lot of new content comes out a month or two later? If you can't handle Vault already, sure, maybe you need it, but otherwise it's more for outdoor players.
Every time I read an article about this thing the more concerned and disappointed I become...After SIX YEARS of this crap, we only managed to get HALF OF A PATCH freed from this stuff...Yeah, the people who didn't buy DF were probably right not to believe Blizzard.
even more for jc's to make tons of gold woo..... coulda spread the love to enchanting / inscriptionists
I agree, it's yet another unnecessarily complicated system. I thought we were past these, guys?Easy answers.1) Remove the ability to create new stones 2) Remove the ability to crush stones3) Add RNG protection for stone drops, to avoid Legion legendary syndrome resulting from #14) Upgrade stones by a jewelcrafter (through craft orders) combining them with a rare and/or expensive material from the new zone. This upgrade path should be pre-determined so public craft orders are actually worth using. No inspiration, going for 5 stars, etc. 5) There is no #5, we're doneOnly downside is you'll end up with a bunch of unused stones. So make them vendor for 500 gold. That way they won't feel like useless garbage cluttering up your bags like Korthia and ZM.
I'm all for enticing people, adding stuff to do, etc, etc. I'm not arguing against adding temporary systems as a whole, they can be fun. I'm also not arguing against (limited, hard-capped) time-gating or grinding, they make sense in a subscription MMO as you correctly noted.Systems should not be overly complex. This feels like complexity for its own sake, like a bunch of devs sat in a room and one guy was like "Wait, how do we avoid Legion legendary syndrome?" and another went "Let players create their own stones!" and "But what about itemlvl, we should add an upgrade system!" then "To do that we can deconstruct the stones, and it'll take crushing two stones to upgrade one, with 4 components left over, and you can use them to make new ones too, let me put all this in the spreadsheet so you guys understand, check sharepoint" and then another dude raised his hand and went "We need to involve jewelcrafters" and it just kept snowballing until we get what, well, we got. Super complex, you'll need to study a FAQ on Wowhead to understand what the heck to do, and in a single patch nobody will give a flying frig because it'll all be obsolete anyway.Stop it, Blizzard. Just take a second to consider what you're doing, and stop it.P.S.: Calling a ring an "Annulet" is trolling your players. Yes, I know the derivation of the word but I had to look it up and be honest-- so did you.
