It might be kind of sad, but I think the most epic loot drop I ever got was just recently. I started playing WoW well after the Burning Crusade was already in full swing. That really limited me from getting into raiding too much. However, since I was able to get to 80 fast this time and run instances with my friends I have gotten some pretty epic pieces of loot. I would say because of that the most epic loot piece I have gotten so far is the Drake-Mounted Crossbow!

I remember my first BWL clear with my old guild. I was a feral druid, back when feral was a joke for anything but leveling. Well I had geared decently enough that I could put out some decent DPS, almost on par with our rogues (unless it was vael, in which case I was topping the charts). Well right after vael, we pull the next pack of trash, and Draconic Maul dropped. Everyone was cheering, excited that I finally had an epic weapon. This was pre-ZG, so no pagle's terminator yet.
My most epic drop was for sure the ogre loincloth. Its probably the most amazing looking pants item ever, it actually makes me look more naked than just being pantsless. Needless to say i'm wearing this whenever in a capital city.
The most epic loot I did get was Kael Thas' vail for the Hand of Ad'al title....my guild worked on this fight for 3 months...and when it happened all hell broke loose :)
The most epic drop....It must be when I was on my warrior in Blackrock Mountain, cruising through the place with a real spirit. I must say, Blackrock Depths is not my favorite instance, possibly my worse, but I still kept my cool. We had just finished clearing up to the keyhole and used it; allowing us across the bridge to sneak us into the heart of the mountain. At the very edge of the tunnel, we cleared the mobs, easy with the mage throwing them down with fire and our warlock pummeling them with dots, the priest keeping me alive and the rogue well co-ordinating his crowd-control and keeping an add stunlocked. Ah, the mob died, no one looted because the fight was still going on. The mage dies, I missed a challenging shout and that got me down to 10% health, pop a shield wall and start spamming last stand and cleave. We were getting frantic. Potion one drunk, the rogues bitten down and we keep fighting, the priest running out of mana and the warlock barely getting a soulstone on the priest before dying; and then the priest dies. So i'm left alone, against one enemy and i'm on 10%. The priest pops the soulstone and starts spamming heals on me, already low on mana and uses a mana potion. We finally kick the damn dwarves butt down and he's dead. After a brief rest and ressurecting, I take the opportunity to loot...Stockade Pauldrons. Now i'm not an amazing frantic, but at level 57 it was an extremely big wonder. I was the only plate wearer, I felt for sure I was going to win it, but then our leader tells everyone to 'Greed' it. I'm like '?, whatever, okay'. Apparently it's a world drop and can sell for millions. So we all greed, I bet i'm going to lose and someones gonna sell it to me for something like 100g; what a waste. I cross my fingers as I am the last one to roll, I have to beat a 51, 17, 96 and 97.Bam.100/100.The Stockade Pauldrons are mine, and are equipped within seconds.
Just the other day, my guild decided to run Naxxramas on heroic mode. About mid-way through the fight with Kel'Thuzad a bad detonate mana killed 3 of our main healers. So the DPS really kicked things into gear and started dropping his health like crazy. We did finally get him down, and he droped the Tier piece for my mage. Of course i had to roll against 3 DK's, 2 other mages, 5 rogues, and 4 Druid's. Amazingly I won the roll with a 99 and im now sporting my first piece of T7.
My most epic loot has to be my mechano-hog. Love mounts :D
It probably can't be counted as loot, but I will anyway :DMy most epic moment so far was likely the achievement popup that labeled my DK as being level 80... first horde DK to 80 for that matter! But another alliance had gotten there much earlier ;( oh well!
An Epic moment for me was when visiting UBRS and while fighting The Beast for the first time our gnome tank got punted across the entire room. We all had a good long laugh at that one and has been the funnestest moment in WoW for me thus far.
