The most epic loot I've ever had wasn't even a drop but a quest reward from the hunter's epic bow questline. That questline proves the honor and the quality of the old hunters.

I remember the first time my guild ran BRD, back when an "Emp Run" meant a very, VERY long day. We were a bunch of poorly geared (greens and half of dungeon set numero uno) 60's so it was a sluggish run, but we were determined to get to that Emperor. I remember that first time we set foot in The Lyceum...We couldn't believe how many mobs were in there! Conventional pulling wasn't working in here, much to our surprise. So all out chaos ensued. By the time we finally got through it and realized about the flame-keepers, we were ready to call it a night. We endured it a little further till we finally downed Thaurissan...and bam, Ironfoe popped up on screen to roll. We definitely felt that was a proper reward for our unrelenting assault on BRD, seeing all of it's bosses and exploring all of the city in one run. =)

“What was the most epic loot drop you've ever gotten?”I'd probably say that one of my recent loots had made me go a little crazy, when I playing in bc or pre-bc I never got as excited as I did in WOTLK. I went into The Obsidian Sanctum randomly when we had a few guildies hit 80 and I didn't expect to get any loot from there, only the badges. And when 'Majestic Dragon Figurine' dropped I went crazy but I am a kind of person who doesn't usually roll unless I know nobody else will roll for it. And since I was the only priest in the raid. Everybody were like "ROLL.. ROLL" and I finally had. And the item was mine, I'm still using it and I'm very happy with it.
Most epic drop? Heh, how about the most epic set of drops. Ok, so one Heroic Mechanar, I'm playing a warlock with a really awesome group. Not only are we just breezing through the place, I get about as lucky as anybody can get. First, a shining fire opal (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30564) drops off of the first boss. Best gem in the entire game for an affliction warlock, and I win it free! The rest of the run goes smooth, and just as we kill the last boss, I hit revered with The Sha'tar, scoring me Xiri's Gift (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29179) one of the best caster trinkets for early progression, and Arcanum of Power (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29191), the best helm enchant for warlocks in the game at the time!I was already pretty psyched, but then I noticed that run had net me just enough (100) badges to afford http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33585, basically a set of pants I would never replace in all my time in BC.Oh, and I happened to have the Heroic AND normal daily quests to visit there, so plus 60 gold ontop of the added rep and badges! (I know, almost unbelievable right!)So all in all I scored myselfhttp://www.wowhead.com/?item=30564http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29179http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29191http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33585and 60 gold for ONE run of heroic mech, the easiest heroic of all of BC. Crazy, right?
My best drop ever, was when http://www.wowhead.com/?item=3349 finally dropped for http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=470 .
I hope im not late for this cause ...I ran the boss 25 man boss in Wintergrasp and was really tanking it! I was pulling off the main tank and showing him how its down and I knew he was just as pro as me cause he would know whats going on and can react just like me. So there we were got the boss down to about 12% ...10%....5%....2%.....ENRAGE! BAM BOOM SPLAT! There goes the raid in a matter of seconds.Attempt number 2:We are ready ...buffed up pug group of 24 other people ready to rock this easy epic giving boss. Of course this time around we lose a warrior, rogue and a boomkin druid somehow. Anyhow...we DID IT! We slayed the rock beast and of course umm...I get a rez up cause I already died as he enraged again lol. So what happens next makes me freak out ....As I get up I say thank you to my friend that invited me to the raid and he responds back..no prob :)Next think I do is go get my badge and LOW AND BEHOLD! ....Teir 7 Death Knight Chest for a tank.I started thinking so many things but all leads to 1 thing... there are 3 other Death Knights in the raid. :(I gracefully only state..Im the only DK tank..kthx then the raid lead for some reason says roll for the following and lists my chest! Of course I don't roll! ..I got my Tier gear ever on my Death Knight which is the greatest and best feeling I have ever had while playing WoW...truly epic.
A week or two before Wrath was released I had been running around in Outland finishing up a bunch of quests I never did just for the bonus gold. I ended up deciding to do the quest for my Epic Flight Form.Unfortunately, it took a while to get a group for the last part. Then when I did they asked me to tank - I was cat specced, cat geared, had poor gear etc. I had very little experience tanking, no tanking talents whatsoever, but I decided to go ahead and try anyway. We had good DPS and an excellent Paladin healer, so we did fairly well once we got into. There were however a couple times I stupidly got 2 shotted by a pull; boy was that embarrasing.Anyway, long post short - I got my Epic Fly Form a few days before the expansion and I tanked it in crappy gear. Turned out to be a rather fun day.
My most 'epic' loot drop....A long, long time ago on the beaches of Feralas.. I met a goblin named Zorbin Fandazzle, who wanted me to get some Zapped Giants, and whack some water elementals for Fuel for the Zapping. Well, that crafty goblin had some shiny toys and a handful of silver as a reward, so off I trudged to do his dirty work.A short while later, and much giant entrails and elemental essence later.. I happen upon a human paladin who has been sent on the very same mission. We decide to join forces, making the task go by much faster. Near the end of the job as a particularly nasty giant fell to the ground, slain by our hands.. a glitter caught our eyes. An axe.. and not just any axe, but a Flurry Axe! We talked over how we should devise the epic loot's ownership, as both of us could use it. I decided that the Paladin could have it, as he would gain more benefit from it than I. A lasting friendship was born that day. After the task was completed that day, the paladin and I still spoke on occasion.. though after a time we lost touch. Many many seasons later, (40 levels, and probably 9 months or so) we again ran into each other.. The paladin was now the second in command of one of our realms top raiding guilds, and he issued an invitation to me without hesitation. The invitation was accepted, and I joined the ranks of his guild along with a number of friends that I brought with me. A short time later, my paladin friend became head of the guild. To this day, no more epic drops have I come across than a friendship rekindled, and a raiding career begun. :)
