The most epic Loot drop Ive gotten is easy. After a hard boss fight in TK, I lost the roll just barely for the nice new chest armor. I was bummed. But the very next trash mob dropped my favorite armor of all time, the Robe of Hateful Echoes. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30056 Not only is it powerful warlock gear that held me to 80, it has by far the best name given to anything, ever. : Whoops, got this item confused with another item that I got. I did get this but just from a normal raid boss. Something did drop in the manner I described above, but sadly I can't recall what it was...Unless all the sources are wrong and the robe does drop in TK. I have no idea, but that doesnt seem likely
It would definitely have to be my Frostfire Ring that gave me 9/9 Tier 3 way back in the day.Although it would certainly be pretty "epic" if you "dropped" that loot card my way. <3
Netherwind Pants. Running MC pugs week after week shortly before TBC, desperately trying to finish out my Tier2 set... an experience I'd really like to forget, but haven't been able to. I'm scarred for life probably, but I got my damn pants. :p
On my warrior my favorite epic loot was realizing that at level 62, I could craft the engineering tanking helm. I was 4 bubbles from 62, so I dropped herbalism and spent about 2k gold powerleveling engineering so that I could craft the helm. Maybe wasn't the most cost effective but was really fun having the goggles so early.
I was in a group with my lowbie druid tank when Deadman's Hand (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34227) dropped and all four of the other party members rolled Need. I said, what the hell and rolled need too. There were THREE 100s and I won the random give xD
