I remember the first time my guild ran BRD, back when an "Emp Run" meant a very, VERY long day. We were a bunch of poorly geared (greens and half of dungeon set numero uno) 60's so it was a sluggish run, but we were determined to get to that Emperor. I remember that first time we set foot in The Lyceum...We couldn't believe how many mobs were in there! Conventional pulling wasn't working in here, much to our surprise. So all out chaos ensued. By the time we finally got through it and realized about the flame-keepers, we were ready to call it a night. We endured it a little further till we finally downed Thaurissan...and bam, Ironfoe popped up on screen to roll. We definitely felt that was a proper reward for our unrelenting assault on BRD, seeing all of it's bosses and exploring all of the city in one run. =)
My most memorable adventure involved a vanity pet.It was just over a year ago. Being horde, you have to go through some trouble to get the Chicken Egg. I traveled to Westfall to find these chickens. Since i'm on a PvE server, the threat wasn't too great. Not at all. The problem was getting the Special Chicken Feed. Since the farmer selling it is, well, alliance, I could only kill it! After a moments thinking, a low level ran by. Trying hopelessly to get him to buy the feed and /chicken the.. chicken, I though of another way. Very cleverly I logged onto my second account and made a lvl1 alliance character called 'Feedchicken'. I whispered the lvl12 paladin and explained him my plan. To my surprise he accepted! (alliance helping horde isn't common you know). He /chickened the chicken until it gave him the quest, and then fed the chick. A few moments later it lay the egg, and I was a happy skipper! Is this the start of a new pact between horde and alliance? Only the chickens know...
Yes I am boring.Back in vanilla wow I was questing over in Felwood and out of the blue Glowing Brightwood Staff dropped for me. I didn't even see it at first as I had autoloot on. I just happened to glance at my chat window window and was like wtf is with the purple text! I couldn't use it myself but I happened to have a good warlock friend that could . We miss you Kanubee!
I remember all the countless hours spent farming the Transporter event for the Depleted Badge to convert to a Badge of TenacityJust to get it nerfed./rasp
Just about 10 minutes ago, when me and a friend duo'd Onyxia. We always wanted to do it way back when, but by the time we could have TBC came out so we never got the chance to really get into a guild that could; and to go back now and do it; it left us a very nice natural high.
I've never gotten an epic drop. :( lots of blues though.
My most epic drop was the T1 helm for my hunter in Molten Core.I was on a Central time server, but I live in the Pacific time zone. Raids would very often start a half hour before I got off work, and either 1) the raid would be canceled due to not enough people, 2) the raid would be full with no room for me, or 3) they wiped so many times on the first two bosses that they gave up for the night before I got there.I would rarely be in the raid when the fourth boss was killed. It would make me sad to hear of it being sharded when I wasn't there. I probably raided for over six months (which actually ended up being about one raid per month) before it finally dropped for me.That character remains in Terokkar at level 65 to this day because I couldn't stand the thought of replacing it with a quest-reward green.
