Dev interview yap levels reduced by at least 50% by this single departure. (This is not a slight).
Maybe we can have some decent M+ rewards now. Or yknow, gear that isn't biased only towards raiding.
lost a real one
Perfect image. Also it seems like he just goes super hard for 4-5 years and then breaks, so good for him.
I hope he manages to have some good time off.
Good. Take your mythic Jastor Diamond and leave.
...Deleting my comment was a bit much, I was directly referencing how if he's getting burnout that means there was likely at least some degree of overworking that I thought would be resolved. Someone doesn't have to be fired for the company to be involved in them leaving. It was on topic and relevant to the article, and did not violate any wowhead policy rules. It wasn't even criticizing anyone but myself for being naive, so it wasn't like I was being hostile. He directly stated that he felt pressured to keep up with patch cycles, and did not want that, so he left. That strikes me as the kind of thing that activision did that I hoped microsoft would not keep up.
Wish him well. It will be interesting to see how rewards change moving forward.
A legend
This is a Blizzard post, not a Live post. Fix the tag so people who don't care about it have their filters correctly applied.
Some of his creations were really cool and unique and interesting. He was clearly passionate and loved what he was doing and cared deeply. That said, he missed the mark quite often and it was obvious he could never handle criticism when told about missing that mark and so it is probably for the best for him to move into a different area in game development if he chooses to stay in that career path. He always reminded me a lot of Danuser in that way. Some of his stuff was fine but some of it was also egregious and he could not handle being told that it was egregious.
Every current employee at Blizzard could get replaced and it can only get better. Maybe they hire someone good by accident.
If he’s involved in creating the looks of the tier sets for hunters then thank god, hunters might get some good looking sets from now on
