"The Sylvanas encounter is 15 minutes long"Disregarding all the other flaws of the encounter, this right here is the worst. Nobody wants to sit on the same enemy for 1/4th of an hour, let alone several hours' worth of wipes. I'm all for learning through experience, but no; this is way longer than it has any right to be. The final boss of the expansion? Sure, in a game with good storytelling and great buildup. A midboss with fairly lackluster writing and buildup? No. My guild is slow to get to her, what with people having too much real life getting in the way (good reasons, not bad ones), but I dread when we get to this fight. Losing to Sylvanas past ~7 minutes will feel like entirely wasted time. Even more so than normal video game wasted time. Defeat her once for AoTC, then end the raid after Kel'Thuzad from then on.
this is great, heroic actually being hard is nice. sylvanas being like 15 min long is fine also, i have different issues with the fight. mainly p1 and p2 are not fun.
These statistics don't tell the whole story.98 guilds killed Denathrius, but, that was the start of the expansion when everyone had no gear at all. The average ilvl was probably about 190.Now, the average ilvl going into the 9.1 raid is 226+, so rather than being 10 ilvls below normal gearing that we had in CN, we are now fully normal geared going into the raid. That means that Sylvanas is massively more difficult than Denathrius because: not only are players more geared than in CN, but 3 times less guilds have killed it.I absolutely love it. I hope Sylvanas stays really difficult, and I hope Mythic lasts for 3/4 weeks.
"Some guilds didn't get AOTC week one, therefore overtuned". I really don't understand this sentiment. If it were up to me, Heroic would be tuned such that you couldn't get AOTC without at least some of the power upgrades (shards of domination in this case) offered by the raid. I would expect top end guilds to get AOTC around week 4-5. It really doesn't make sense that you can just come in and knock out AOTC week one. That's super dumb...Seriously.. People complain about no content and then complain when they can't knock out the content week one. Pick one and stick to it.
The fight is not fun, full of game-breaking bugs, and wiping in p3 12 minutes into a fight, just to do all of the nonsense again is not fun. You can make a fight plenty hard without making obnoxiously long fights. Do you know what IS boring?A cutscene in the middle of a fight where you are literally stunned for no reason. 1. Delete the current phase 2. 2. Make a new phase 2 that takes place on the same platform as phase 1.3. Instant-Tele to Phase 3, or make it part of the fight where phase 2 is protecting Jaina while she channels a portal. 4. Phase 3 as is, but with some new hard stuff for mythic. 8. No longer than 8 minutes.Problem solved.
I am done with this game. This is by far the buggiest patch I can remember since vanilla. I don't know what the hell is happening over at Blizzard but something has gone horribly wrong between BFA and now. What kind of encounter designer thinks a 15 minute raid boss is even remotely fun? Between the bat!@#$ over the top tuning in what is supposed to be casual difficulty, the ridiculous amounts of trash, the marathon runs after wiping and the utter lunacy that is the raid entrance gauntlet, you have completely killed my and my guild's will to raid this tier. I don't understand how these developers can be so completely out of touch with their players when they pull &*!@ like this.
Kind of why at times, I dislike Blizzard's raid designs for the final bosses. I get that it's supposed to be an 'epic' fight but when it's 10 minutes long and you're wiping 8 minutes into it, gets tiring. Wish they would condense the fights down or break them up into two 'separate' fights particularly if the difficulty of the fight is back loaded. It just falls into that category where Blizzard isn't respecting player's time.
The problem I see with long boss encounters is really just inherent in how difficulty scales up. Even on Heroic now, there's frequently mechanics where a single small mistake wipes the raid. I think long encounters are fine if minor mistakes are recoverable. That doesn't mean it has to be easy, but that the pressure is in the endurance of it, not that someone was 1 yard out of place and insta-wiped the entire raid as a result (or worse, got combo'd by a set of abilities from unlucky RNG)
don't cry guys. we are at beginning of s2. next week a lot ppl have more gear (262 leggy, 252 m+ chest, 236 regular m+ loot and even more from others hc bosses). dont forget more renown and new leggys from covenants and conduits and ofc new socket gems.. the content will be alot easier. and m+ is alot easier than s1..
It amazes me that they’re going to kill this game because of poor QC. As a since vanilla player, I’m amazed at how on the decline it’s been.Removed
Keep the difficulty...just fix the bugs. Nothing wrong with 15 minute encounters, as long as there aren't more than 1-2 per raid. I think Painsmith is a great encounter on Heroic...easily a fight where the entire group needs to be coordinate and meet some quick burst checks. Bugs are bugs...they will get fixed (hopefully). Please don't nerf heroic bosses just because plebs that can't 3-star Torghast complain.
she's perfect
Well, at one time it was the same with Kiljeden, and what? The same thing happened with the last bosses of the first cataclysm raids, so what?although I agree that the difference between the first boss (7.500 kills) and last (32) is a very big difference.
This isn't acceptable for an MMO in 2021
Difficult heroic bosses are fun and all raid should continue the trend. Normal is a walkthrough, heroic should be challenging and mythic should be difficult.Keep the game difficult so people have to get better to gear up.
cant kill heroic BUT MYTHIC OPENS TOMORROW BOIS WOOOO cant wait to see those bugs
