Oh god its already been that long? The years really do start coming and they don't stop coming.
i have to say. The Allied Races were the only good thing BFA brought us.To bad they skipped one in 8.3.5 and that N'zoth was not used to give us an Old God expansion...Heck BFA should have been all about the War of Horde and AllianceThen after that a Naga ExpansionAfter that Black Empireand then Shadowlands..but now..had to cram three potential Addons all into one..and lackluster at that...Still i do enjoy my Vulpera Shaman, wish we could have gotten more Allied Races.. Ogers, Hozen, Jinyu, Arrakoa, Sethrak, Mogu....Taunka..Tuskar..*sigh*
As bad as the patch was when it started out, if you actually committed yourself to getting the corruptions you wanted, BfA was actually fun in the end.
BFA and Wod > Shadowlands
My top 3 things I hated about this patch:
Best patch ever. No cap.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes these patches.
2 years later and mechagnomes are still the ugliest thing to grace WoW. The only tolerating factor of their entire existence is the blocked out armor slots that can open the door for other races with similarly non humanoid bodies.
Visions of N'Zoth was a pretty cool patch after they added skips to the storylines and account-wide essences. Corruption was a very interesting system and it was funny to watch how creative some people were. Also, Awekended was the best M+ affix ever!
Is there any1 who wants to have that information? or some1 finding this "back to the past jump" useful? funny?
I miss you Twilight Devastation
All the ideas about what Ny’alotha / N’zoth “could’ve been” aside, I still enjoyed seeing N’zoth’s influence and his mechanics. To this day I still like to recite his lines with that deep voice. While Ny’alotha could’ve indeed been a separate area, I find it kind of cool and fitting that it’s rather an insane dimension of the real world. I thought Visions and their progression systems were really cool, and actually felt challenging to the right amount by allowing you to control how challenging you wanted it to be.Awakened in my opinion was a game changing affix that I really enjoyed. I still think it was the best one so far. The dungeons in this season definitely felt completely different than other seasons even though they are the same dungeons. Same for PvP, it was a completely unique season.I actually liked the corruption mechanic. I’m sad that it’s disabled now. It sucks that some RNG elements made the experience worse for a lot of players, but I really loved the concept of it and the creative possibilities you could achieve by balancing risk & reward.I’ll be honest, I didn’t even mind the N’zoth cinematic. I agree that there could’ve been a narrative with story progression within the cutscene, but I was OK with this being the conclusion too. Plus, it was cool to have a big moment where the Heart of Azeroth shows it’s power, channeled directly from within the core of the planet itself. All in all, while not everyone might agree on how good the patch was for their taste, I think most can agree that it was definitely a memorable one.
I think you're right about BFA should be only about conflict between Horde and Aliance, but Azhara and Ny'alotha have to be in one addon for story integrity. And Shadowlands... I guess it's not what we should have gotten in the first place...
Unironically send me back to that time. I loved WoW from 8.2 through 8.3. After all the stalled out quality of life changes in the earlier patches, they finally dropped a big meaty patch for 8.2 and then expanded it with 8.3. Had plenty of reasons to login then, chiefly because of the rank 4 essence grind for azeroth’s champion. Which even though I failed cause I going from melee dps to pvp healer (guess which class) would have been the easiest path given the healer’s dominance in pvp cause of ineffable truth, it still was just a big jump. However I wouldn’t trade the failure for anything, enjoyed my time in this patch.Just a shame they waited until hall of fame closed to finally start putting the much asked QoL in the game. I can’t imagine how much better BFA’s patches would have felt had all the stuff been upfronted. Would have loved to finish up the fire mage/destro lock I was trying to get started on.Also where the hell have 2 years gone. My time awareness is already so poor that covid happening just trashed it completely.
Did that Island brawl ever happen? I don’t remember seeing that in game
