"This brings the total number of random corruption rolls to 52 (up from 51) meaning when a pieces corrupts, you now have a 1.92% chance of getting the exact corruption that you want."

Yes because this is totally better than the whole WarForging/TitanForging BS we had before. Instead of 52 combinations, why not just give each spec like 10, a much more enjoyable number considering people are either gods or trash based on their corruption, or just get rid of WF/TF/Corruption in general. I never thought I'd miss tier gear until now. Instead of giving us more things to grind, give us what we want and have asked for - account-bound rep and essences.

GG Blizz, you listen and understand your game's players needs so well.

This...this is getting ridiculous. Just how many layers of rng are we gonna end up with in SL at this rate?

Comment by Smokalogy

imagine getting another trashy corrupted piece, instead of lighten the burden on alts to be ready for raids within 3/4 weeks.

whoever came up with this system, seriously play the game and figure out how annoying this system actually is.

lighten the burden on alts to be ready for raids within 3/4 weeks.

imagine needing to actually do more than the bare minimum for 3 weeks straight on a fresh 120 to get an alt ready for the highest level pve in the game lmfao

Imagine being so much bad at math that you're getting mad for 1.92% chance of desired corruption down from 1.96% without knowing the actual difference. The number is pretty much higher comparing to usual drop-rate of other items in-game since vanilla which is 0.1%

Does your guild either A. Buy all the top tier corruption effects off the AH for their raiders or B. stick completely to normal raiding?(##RESPBREAK##)

While yes it is a 0.4% difference what you are failing to take into account is first getting a piece of loot and then hoping that piece of loot is the piece you want and then putting in the new 1.92% chance of desired corruption. Ignoring WQ loot, non-rated pvp, and non-io dungeons you are left with arena, raids, and m+. While I don't have a full statistical number on arena I know of several cases, mine included, of going 75+ wins without a piece of loot. Currently, in Nya'lotha you have many bosses that offer one piece of loot and the few that offer more increases the gambling aspect even with bonus rolls (which we currently get two of in a twelve boss raid). Lastly, we have mythic dungeons that everyone can spam but if you think about it most dungeons offer somewhere in the number of, let us say, seven pieces of loot and completing a +14 on time (1 chest) gives two pieces of loot. Let us assume that you are not armor stacking and just doing keys and stick with the ~7 pieces of loot per dungeon per player. Now, you have five players consistently timing +14's and so there are thirty-five pieces of loot but you get two and if one of those pieces is a trinket then you lose (since trinkets can't corrupt).

Furthermore, while the damage done effects sim high if you are a range player getting Twilight Devastation or Echoing Void is a sim trap and if you get Gushing Wounds, Infinite Stars, or Twisted Appendage then you have to hope that your class design actually can use it. This latter point is something I am trying to collectively gather data on because as a Warlock main I am running into scenarios where Infinite Stars, Twisted Appendage, and Gushing Wounds are insane for Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction, respectively.

All in all reducing chances when there are already problems within the game (*cough* Psyche Shredder for Warlocks *cough*) the last thing many players want is more rng when maybe eight of those 52 combinations are better than good.

They already stated they would never give account-bound essences or rep. It makes no sense to give all of them to a character that's never been played to the main's level. However, I'd suggest making them easier to obtain when you already got a main with it. As an example, Eternal Palace, Ny'Alotha, M+ and 8.2 reputations essences would shrink the necessary amount you needed to create another's spec essence to a 33% of the real amount if you've already created the same tier for a different spec. This system should be copied towards alts.

No, I know they've stated they'll never do it, but at the current state of it, making alts and having to grind the essences out again just makes people burn out on the game, and for someone who's played for nearly 11 years, it's sad you know? Although while my little rant didn't have much of a real response to it, I can definitely agree that if they'd base it off a "main" character's essence completion to allow things to be easier for an alt, I'd 100% be down for it. And honestly, even account-wide essences could be made to be like, "Look your main has rank 4 Lucid? Your alt can have rank 2, you work on the other 2." or something similar-ish. However for account-wide rep, I don't know if they've ever said anything saying no, however the main thing to look at is the game itself is 15 years old. Making the reputations from previous expansions account bound would at least lessen a little of the burden on alts who might want another profession, and who are also completionists. I know it's a bit to ask, but like i said, the game IS 15 years old, and honestly how many people -truly- enjoy going back to old expansions to farm rep for a few weeks or more? Either way, I wish they'd make it just a little easier for alts.

just bring the warforging back pls :) You're failing big time...

Shadowlands will be introducing the new logon mechanic that is intended to improve gameplay. When you log on there is a 50% chance it will fail, forcing a hard restart.

Pray to RNG gods even more or curse Blizzard even more .... Pick your poison :D

Big paragraph

First of all, I'd say if you're not running for a world first or at-least Hall of Fame then min-maxing is not mandatory for you. Secondly, if you try to farm literally everything then obviously you'll have extreme amount of odds against RNG. If you target specific places for gears then the odds will be much less to get a corrupted gear. As high level raids tends to have higher chance of dropping corruption as well as 100% chance of getting corrupted gears from weekly mythic and conquest chest. But obviously, if you literally farm everything then your work will be harder without any doubt.

Corruption is much worse than warforging/titanforging. At least those didn't had any negative effects...

Corruption is a combination of multi layer RNG (corrupted item should drop and have correct effect) on top of timegating (cloak upgrades) and grind (visions, dailies)... I hate this.(##RESPBREAK##)

You can clear the corruption if you are not into it

And be much worse performance wise than someone with corruption? That's not how it works...

What Blizzard should do now to fix this flawed system is apply massive nerfs to negative corruption effects:
- slow affect reduced by 75%
- eye area size and damage reduced by 75%
- add speed and damage reduced by 75% and so on.

or remove negatives completely.(##RESPBREAK##)
