Somehow Sylvanas returned....
Knew it, a new world tree comes alive and somehow Sylvanas returns.
I mean frankly, I don't think you could reasonably do a decent forsaken heritage armor questline without acknowledging their creator. They have datamined undercity tabards that no longer have the dark lady on them, indicating that perhaps the forsaken will denounce her. Time will tell. I don't think this return will be forgiveness by any stretch. Probably more like closure for a race whose leader has become a complete and total villain. But if they were to denounce her, I'd rather see the RP behind that decision rather than just popping in and seeing them go "ah yeah we hate her now, ANYWAY-" Naw, I wanna see Sylvanas potentially face rejection from her own forsaken.
Hopefully she can just endorse the desolate council and go do whatever on her own, without us. Maybe she can go try to fix things with her sisters or something...
Man this threat is just people going $%^&ing crazy feral about her again. Just gonna let the hate train ride
I really wish to have at least a nice closure with her, especially as a loyalist! She is part of why undead are my absolute favorite race - I'm sad she is not with us anymore and how they butchered her story, but i'm still curious on how they will manage the whole questline.
Keep. The Cement colored Elf War Criminal. IN THE MAW. Thank you.
I love it when Sylvanas gets mentioned because all the angry little orclings come out to scream about how they hate this one character specifically for reasons that are definitely not gender based lolAnyway, we should have seen this coming the instant they said the quests wouldn't be seen on the PTR. Sylvanas is the ONLY thing they keep that tightly under lock and key. Shadowlands encrypted everything to do with her so aggressively while both it AND BFA and limited her appearances to things that mostly couldn't be datamined. They know how popular she is, they know she is still a big fan favourite by a wide margain, anyone who didn't expect it the instant they said it wouldn't be tested was lying to themselves.Furthermore you can't divorce the Forsaken from Sylvanas. Character ruined by a sexual predator or not, she is a huge part of the Forsaken's history. Without her, the Alliance would have stolen Lordaeron from them a long time ago. Any part of the Forsaken moving forward that doesn't acknoweldge and honor that is just $%^& writing. This whole idea that a schism between the loyalists and the Council could tear the Forsaken apart is hysterical nonsense. The loyalists returned anyway, and Sylvanas has already willingly accepted her fate. At most the loyalists are going to be people who refuse to ignore everything Sylvanas did for them, and if that's a schism that can tear the Forsaken apart, that's a searing condemnation of the Desolate Council as a concept. It's a Democracy. Not everyone is going to be on the same page, and that's how it should be. The Council SHOULD be disliked by some people. Calia SHOULD remain disliked by some people, because what the races in WoW are severely lacking is diversity of thought. Some Forsaken are never going to be okay with a Scarlet Crusader and a Lightmonger on their governing body. And that's okay, it should stay that way. At the height of Sylvanas' reign there were Forsaken who disliked her rule. Making it so all the Forsaken eventually hold hands and sing kumbaya now that the Light Lich is here would be a disservice to the Forsaken. It would paint the same picture that the Alliance and Horde getting along just fine with no issue in Dragonflight does. That somehow peace was being impeded only by a single person. And that's a ridiculous notion.I know a lot of people (Human Mains, Worgen Mains, Nelf Mains, Orc Mains) don't like Sylvanas. You don't matter. She's not your character, she's not for you. Her writing should not be about making you happy. She's a character that belongs to the Forsaken and Blood Elves, she should be written for THEM.Granted this is the one-two punch of Danuser and Golden, a Game of Thrones simp and aggressive Pickme respectively, so I expect the worst as a baseline. I expect the quest to be about "Now that we're free of that evil woman creature we can become good servants of the Light!" because if fascism is a slight undercurrent in their writing than shoulderpads in this game are "a bit on the big side."
While it is undeniable that she is a part of the past and history of the Forsaken, she wouldn't exist without the scouring of Lordaeron. Frankly, she can't be redeemed for what she did with the tree - mass murder of innocent civilians that includes children, babies, and more. There is no redeeming that. For too many years the Forsaken story and narration has taken a back seat to Sylvanas fanservice. Its time for the Forsaken to move past being a prop for Sylvanas. The Desolate Council is a great start.
Danuser thingz
And how many characters on the roster haven't had a chance to be fleshed out or do anything?I am so tired of her, and I used to love her.
Yay, Sylvanas!
likely just a memory thing i guess
My assumption is that she will be called out of the maw BY Tyrande, to guard the damn tree. A much better penance.
Only if she would come back and throw the glowing chandelier out of Undercity
I am confident that Blizzard will not mess with Sylvanas for some time now. Last three expansions were Sylvanas-oriented (at least from the Horde side point of view).
