I don't have a problem with this addon specifically. But I believe it is absolutely true that in general reliance on addons makes the game a way, way, way worse game.
Wont even need this addon if you're not using WeakAuras or making them yourself. It's either this or you go check Wowhead for all the info anyways. It's QOL.As for whatever out of pocket debates going on here in the comments? Yikes. Probably not the best addon showcase to die on a hill over your beliefs in addons/mods. Could use a better setting.
I was hoping that this would explain more about the abilities. An example could be "this ability appears like a red swirly on the ground, and players should avoid standing in it."There's a whole discussion going on about how addons may or may not be needed/make the game too easy/whatever, but I would really wish that the dungeon journal would contain information that a player could use, to prepare for an encounter, instead of having to find guides outside the game. Should that come from Blizzard themselves or an addon? I frankly don't care. I just don't want to have to leave the game to find the information that allows us to complete the encounter.
Just like I said in the hidden auras post last week, they'll always find a way around it. Maybe one of these days Blizz will finally accept the fact their players know more about how their game works than they do.
