Yeah, not gonna lie, there's not many really exciting things in store with the Renown system besides the empowered conduits slots slowing unlocking one by one until mid-October...
I wish they'd get rid of the renown cap already. What is the point.
So much fluff in these renown levels.... Why is it 2-3 a week? Why not just make it one renown level and combine all the jazz we get from those 2-3 levels into one... And then make anything that allows you to get catchup renown... also works to get you to the cap. Nothing is more boring than having to do the same two quests each week just to hit max renown.
I'll say this, I thought the Renown system was an interesting way to... path the way to the storyline. What I mean by that is that if you compare to previous expansions, as a new player, you have no way of knowing 'where is the story'. Say you come in BfA 8.3, there are 'main campaign' stuff from all the patches of the expansion everywhere, like Nathanos sending you in the other faction's continent to do the war campaign, also that quest sending you in Nazjatar, plus that quest sending you do 8.3 stuff with Magni and Wrathion, and let's not forget also Magni who wants to talk to you about Azerite Essences. So I think Renown could've been a nice way to structure it all, show the order in which the chapters work. But no, it's still a mess for the most part.I mean, at least, you still need to be Renown 40+ to start the last few chapters in Korthia...
Some sound like they've made it their life's purpose to hit max renown and Blizzard is preventing the dream. The two weekly quests are almost free, unless you make a point to skip everything that current world content provides. The alternative is not having it capped and spamming plaguefall a dozen times an hour, how is that better?
It's actually a really appropriate way for them to slowly increase our power level and provide a soft-nerf to current content. The amount of time it takes to unlock the 2 renown each week is maybe 25min if you're taking your time. Or if you're not raiding or running keys or arenas w/e Tuesday night you have the whole week to complete it, no rush. And if you don't complete it that week you can just get it even easier in following weeks with the catch up.People love to complain and forget that there's a precedent for systems like this ever since Legion.
