They should completely split Chinese WoW from the rest of WoW. Then World First type achievements in NA, EU, and OCE won't include the obvious RMT from China.
i would fail these questions. i just listen to my raid leader making callouts, never really retained the info. im only normal/heroic casual raider though.
Blizzard has turned the game into business. So just eat and swallow it.
Good, f*** boosting as a business.
I've thought about this on/off a bit since the initial post. One problem in policing/preventing this from happening would be the low cost of the service for those players in China, engaging in this behavior. There's also cultural norms at play. The penalty is rather low. I wrote a term paper based off the initial RMT article in China and it's basically accepted more in their culture. 30 days seems like such a small slap on the wrist. People got up to 30 days for 10 lands (/10 bans potion abuse) and up to 2 years for Ivus loot abuse. Maybe the Hall of Fame should close off sooner; while that might not be fair it might prevent horde mythic guilds from faction changing to boost the raid or some shenanigans. Though I assume it's likely both factions were played (by the raid RMT boosters) and those who perused the service likely didn't run the instance themselves during the clears. The 8 characters in the raid being played by one player, example certainly raises flags.
Imagine getting a call from a game company, asking you the mechanics of a raid boss or your account is banned. That's beyond hilarious
how about enforcing real identity paper submit to create a wow account in china. And ban the account and identity if such a thing happen?
I really get the feel these efforts are just superficial, and we won't see drastic measures such as making regional halls of fame. And this is the market that so many companies in the West are just drooling to get into.
"RMT has become so ingrained into the culture of gaming in China that it's virtually impossible to eradicate - no amount of hardware, MAC, or IP bans can control it." Like it's not the same in NA and EU and pretty much around the world? Where is the negativity and hostility against the Chinese coming from?
The most import thing is these illegal groups can use this HoF as an advertisement to get more money in China.代打工作室会利用名人堂成就做广告赚更多的钱。
$30 for a mythic clear? Brutosaur cost me like £500 in tokens
Hm... That means is not Blizzard filling the LFG tool with a lot of trash annoying boost seller ads? i don't believe! #mindblow :O
