This is such a bad move at this point in the season, Blizzard! The chains are not class specific, so you’re just nerfing the people who haven’t reached their goals yet mid-seasonAt the same time while leaving this brand new mega-meta in place. The only way this nerf will be appropriate is if you also lower the health of the mobs in the dungeon or increase the timer to compensate for the time loss
So Blizzard, your logic is let a few groups time a 30 key then nerf the chains and not increase the timer. Revert this awful change and do this moving forward. You cannot make this change now at this point in the season...
I think if I was aiming for the top 0.1%, or had any stake in that type of race, I think any change like this would leave me feeling very angry. As it is, I don't, so I feel quite indifferent to it. But I can see how things like this really screw with people who have high aspirations. Changing the playing field and allowing people to keep their previous scores is not good. Not sure how people can compete with others who've done it in the old way now?
I think it's a terrible idea for blizzard to make changes in the middle of seasons like this. 1. If one group can do this, then essentially everyone can.2. It's not a bug. It's planning a riskier pull for greater payoff.3. The people that were able to push high keys using this have an advantage over people that are still pushing to be competitive for the season. The ones that got a 27+ doing this may struggle to accomplish that again and the people that hadn't accomplished that now have their progress hindered where others didn't.
fun detected...
Lesson learned. Exploit early and often.
It's toxic for mythic + to have a feature like this anyway not sure what blizz was thinking - on the one hand they change toxic affixes like thundering but on the other leave in mechanics such as this, it's an odd season to play for sure.
