So how do we opt in to balanced shards? How do you account for shards with the battle happening filling up with PvP raids?
Elite commanders are also faction tagged so on unbalanced shards its still just free loot for the majority. Doesnt seem like a good fix.
They need to nerf too the Summoned Arcane Elemental in the middle of Nazjatar that is hitting 130k per second and ccing for 6s in one attack, that is long channeled and seems to have very low CD. Removed. If not for the ranged staying alive, it will reset back to full life. At least the spirit healer is near but...
Better fix would be to actually try and balance most shards by default, then lock shard hopping when the event starts. Let all the overflow horde then have the PvE only event.
thats a funny way of saying "we are removing the battle for nazjatar"
Well, I'll miss Battle of Nazjatar; the Azshara Commanders is meh, tried to kill them on my low pop server early in the morning, was only able to kill two before warning came up that all died, didn't get any commendation for it... It would be easier if there was some short of queue for those that want do the normal battle, although I enjoyed the zergfest that was most of the times, the few cases there was an actually struggle to win against an actual Alliance raid was also enjoyable.
I don't even see the issue. If that event popped, most people just joined a shard/raid where their faction was winning. The only problem I had with WM on, was going to Nazjatar and being dead after the loading screen, because the town was raided by the opposite faction. Since everything is constantly phasing in Nazjatar, why not make the faction towns unaccessible to the enemy faction?
As expected, the battle didn't happen on my realm shard. I went to look for one on group finder and found no groups. Has anyone even seen a battle happen since this change happened?
Absolute GARBAGE! So they introduce sharding to balance the servers but since they just said that doesn’t work they’re taking away an event?
Can't wait to never experience another battle due to imbalance! Doesn't help that I play EU while living in US.It was honestly so fun banding together, taking the bases, and hunting horde. Killing elites just isn't the same. Time to fix sharding, Blizz. There has GOT to be another solution than this. If I wanted to do WM Off events, I'd have WM OFF.
They're admitting that sharding and WPvP has failed and you're back to sticking to PvETheir solution is just to have the event never pop up now
As an Alliance player who participated in a number of Battle of Nazjatar and have lost every single one of them because of faction imbalance, it's disheartening to see the devs taking this route. This isn't a fix. I want more of my faction to turn warmode on, I don't want them given more incentive to leave it off. With this they will feel like they're not missing out on anything, so why bother. I hope this is only a temporary solution while the team is working on a better way to fix the overall warmode imbalance issue.
1: First of all Blizzard can't fix their sharding in any way, shape or form.............period. If they did or could they would of done it for this event.2:They give the Pvper's some candy but said that is too much and took it away. Many people want world / island pvp, it is one of the reason you lost so many people to classic. Classes are not unique , everyone heals, op pve trinkets, too many people that pve crying because of wpvp and gear up when attack is BS.3: Blizzard just blew a hole in their War mode concept by appealing to outnumbered classes and / or pve whiners. There was a main reason for WM, for wpvp....if you don't like it turn the dang thing off. There is much more but if I write it all people will only scan the message and/or not read it. basically they turn war mode off for a event in nazjatar for the pve whiners that were using LFG / certain servers grouping to back door their advantage to win in the battle. Yes, alliance/pve players were doing that because blizzard sharding DOES NOT WORK !
For several battles not even one, one horde even showed up.
Ok, I just had someone pull me aside and we went over this problem and many others in Blizzards WoW.I thought about what i said and info I just received and have this to say.Alliance is out numbered !Just my opinion from looking at server status, Blizzard would know this more than me. If you add up all the alliance and all the horde on all the servers, horde outnumber the alliance by big numbers. If Blizzard could be transparent with the reasons why they give alliance more things more people would see why.If you look at arena players, many play alliance factions in arenas because most of the racials are better than horde ones in most cases. Blizzard gave alliance a better buff and gear than horde so alliance would turn WM on. I could keep going but you understand where I am coming from.Maybe sharding isn’t working the way everyone hoped and maybe it is but we don’t see why it is the way it is. Think for a second( not correct number but example) If 1,000 alliance are on but 15,000 horde are on how do you shard it so its fair for both parties? How do you fix the mess your in because you know if one faction gets shorted they will yell , “Its not fair”.I believe that is where Blizzard is at and have to fix it so their sharding and etc. have a better chance of working right.
They need to merge Alliance and Horde in pvp and pve already. Make pvp free for all. Only way to balance this and only way to make pvp more fun for everyone.
I will frame this with the explanation that my server must be heavier on the horde side because we win the battle often. I will also say that I have seen plenty of alliance raids that face stomp me, but I still go fight them because it's fun.So- I just experienced this "alternate event" for the first time. It was terrible and unimaginative. Getting to rares is hard enough in the current state of the game since they melt in a few hits from the dozen or so people already there. I made it to 1 of the rare "bosses", got 1 commendation sigil, and that was it. I did not get conquest, any alliance kills, etc. BFA has been somewhat up and down for me, and I have not been enjoying it as much as Legion. However, with the implementation of 8.2 and the Battle for Nazj, I actually wanted to get on and have fun. I was enjoying the battle and getting together with friends and fighting the alliance. Sure, sometimes it was 3 raids vs. the 3 of us, but those overwhelming odds allowed us to at least laugh and have fun. We did NOT win in those instances, but I was sure as hell able to get at least one kill that allowed me to get a good chunk of the rewards. When the alliance was receiving HUGE rewards for turning on warmode, the game was sometimes a journey of trying not get destroyed by a raid, but it did make the game a bit more dangerous. The various pvp events around the new zones have opened up some world pvp that is enjoyable, frustrating, and even hateful at times, but it can be fun. I also get ganked often enough in the two new zones that it evens out the times that I run around just killing alliance. While in Nazjatar, for the first time in the expansion, it actually felt like a Battle for Azeroth, and that was great. Maybe this is the vanilla player in me who spent a lot of time in Ashenvale getting camped by lvl 60 alliance on my 22 hunter, but if I ever have a problem with something, I can now just join a group on a different server. I rarely do this, but it is an option. Now I can look forward to 5 rares that pop-up and die in 10 seconds because my server is always going to be imbalanced. This is not a fix, and it actually makes me want to be in the zone less. Luckily Mechagon has things to farm with rares that actually give rewards.
