The prideful buff is noce, dunno why you'd skip it
We tried this earlier but it didn't work because of the Spiteful Shade that spawned after killing the Prideful (due to this week's Spiteful affix), it put someone in combat and broke their invisibility.
Or you play Mistweaver monk and you can never afford to skip any pride buff because you get oom every other minute without the 5 pride buffs during the dungeon.
There are times to skip it. Perfect example was us doing a +19 spires. Last boss with 4m left on last add. We drag the last add to back left/right and potion so we dont pull pride. Then we kill boss with 35s remaining. Had we done pride there is just no way we would have finished in time. As someone has said here before sometiems the time taken to kill the pride, even without anyone dying, really isnt worth it. Ive personally skipped pride a couple of times during higher keys (not super high but we've skipped them a few times when it 100% isnt worth the buff)Watch some high level content for further context as there are a lot of groups skipping prides for this exact reason.
You missed the 21 at the end of one of the Prideful links, instead linking affix 1. I strangely don't remember Overflowing from Legion, but then again, I only did a weekly key back then.
Well this seems like something that Blizzard wouldn't want to have happen. Given that we might have 4 to 6 more months before the next season, I expect this strategy to be nerfed somehow within a week.
Isn't it funny that Prideful was meant to compensate you for the time lost with a damage/heal buff but instead it scales so hard that it's better to give up a combat potion AND the throughput buff it offers and just use your CDs on something that will complete the dungeon instead?
uhm but prides are there to clear mob packs and especially bosses much faster maybe it's better to skip them for really good groups that do really high keys but I don't think that's the case for the average player doing +10-15 keys
For 15 keys there isn't really any prides you want to skip as most dungeons have a use for them, specially since you take 40seconds to kill them gaining mana for your healer and damage to make up for lost time. The only one I would argue for is Mist as you can invis/shroud skip to the last boss and get your 80% pride from the four pack, kill boss then finish trash later and this might only net you 20-40sec time saved depending the group.
Mythic+ should require you to kill ALL mobs to complete the dungeon. It would help with the class / spec imbalance and it would eliminate the search for exploity / cheaty behavior that results in "questionable" skips.
