Very good change, huge W blizzard
Now the people who don't actually care about mounts but only see them as an extension of their ego can be happy again! Much better than all the people who genuinely liked and used the Raszageth skin for what it is, and not the rarity of pixels.
Don't worry guys us non mythic raiders will probably get a drake skin in 10.3. Pretty much all latest expansions had a quest to kill the last boss of the expansion on heroic for a mount and i am pretty sure this will be the same. What i hope for is that Blizzard add a customization for the mount collectors achievement since dragonriding will be a thing from now onwards to future expansions.
Ah sh*t, here we go again. 🙄
Awesome! Something to work for.
The forums are already filling up with threads about this and they all devolve into people who would like nice things and the people who want not one to have nice things.
Oh, so the way it's always been with season 2 mythic raiding rewards, gotcha.
really dumb. Mythic should be guaranteed, with a progressively reduced chance as you go down the difficulty ladder (i.e. H-30%, N-15%, LFR-5%). *You* took this cat out of the bag Blizzard. Can't put it back in now.
Nice. An earned reward is always better than a participation trophy. Just like the old days.
people who are saying this should be a drop on all difficulties because "its just a customization" and "wont be relevant after dragonflight" are on some SERIOUS copium. theyve already said they want to keep dragonriding relevant after DF, your mount isnt going anywhere. youll get access to this next xpac at a 1% droprate just like every other mythic mount.
I think having a mythic drop only reward is okay but they did sort of set a new precedent with the raz customization and it would be sad to see them go back on that. Maybe there could be a Fyrakk shadowflame protodrake style customization that either drops in the Fyrakk assaults or off a different boss in the raid on any difficulty that way there's a 'drop for everyone' and then a 'prestige' drop for the try hard crowd. These two concepts don't have to be mutually exclusive and given the tone thus far of dragonflight being more alt/casual friendly having both would just seem to further that pattern and be something blizz could do to cater to both aspects of the player base. Gotta keep everyone happy to keep those subs up!
It's a pretty big misconception that you need to no life to get CE these days. Took me ~8hours a week just raid logging. If your guild takes a leisurely pace you can defeat highly nerfed versions of the bosses. Doesn't require much in either the skill or commitment department. There's plenty in this game you can achieve already if you don't want to do mythic. Let us have some rewards that aren't based around achievements, rep etc and actually take a modicum of skill
