I didint had too much friends in WOW, one time i changed guild, but still talk too some nice people off my old guild, i speak a lot with one person, so i decided to recruit him to my new guild, and now we are always talking, always doing stuff in game together, always helping each other. Interesting how u can do friends in a game :P
Living up with some great friends close by, we could learn the game as a group of friends. Mm miss my youth..
While I know a few people that live near me, I haven't gone out to meet them as I don't have my own car to use >_>. Have a friend that I've known since Wrath though.
<insert amazing, heart-wrenching story>
I found some from my guild and it is really cool to chat with 'em
Through the years I have played WoW as well as other online games I have played with, talked with and met with awesome new people building friendships that have lasted years and doing this through an online game is also a grouping of people that we have at least one thing in common: We all like video games! Despite what people say about Online relationships and friendships (that it can be dangerous or disappointing) it can become a great experience to meet people that although you have enjoyed playing games or chatting with but you have never met, just make sure you bring a group of friends along the party. :)
I've been in the same guild for over 5 years now and have grown to be very close with several of the core members. We have had several iRL guild meetings, even though we have members from all over Europe.
It's nice talking to people on line but I am a very private person and would not feel comfortable meeting anyone irl through a video game.
I forced my RL friends to switch alliance (vanilla and I wanted to play paladin), so I picked a server to reroll on... Long story short we ended up meeting a sweet guild and playing with them for years. Still talk to a lot of them today =)
Ive been playing for 5 years to now, and I meet my actual girlfriend in wow, we are dating since 2011 to present day, so Im very thankfull to wow for that
World of Warcraft created a really strong bond between me and my best friend.
I go for a beer twice a month with a guildmate, whom I met on-line.
I have met some of my friends in our old raid group. Even though we no longer raid together, we occasionally meet up and grab a few beers.
Met my husband via WoW. Almost 9 years and two wonderful children later and we still play WoW together. It's a great past time and very nostalgic. When time allows, we even try to meet up with guildies. We've had the occasional drink with the guildies (that are old enough too of course).
Yeah, I might have gone for this a couple years ago. Now I play solo most of the time. Not because I'm not in touch with my old friends, but because we mostly play games like Dota together these days. All of them quit WoW, but I'm still pretty close with them.
I happened to be introduced to a whole party of guys in my server. We started doing a lot of company in game and we eventually became good real-life friends. One of my best gaming experiences :)
I have met a lot of kind people through WoW but I never imagined that I'd meet my best friend and love of my life and certainly not in a rather floppy ICC guildrun! It was supposed to be all serious business because the guild was still making progress but some tit of a tauren (well, a tree actually) certainly changed that - for me at least. While running around like a retard, talking s*** on Ventrillo, he really did make it all much more fun. He wasn't stupid though he pretended to be (and sometimes still do!), nah, he was just a happy fool having fun with what he was doing. I had no idea who this guy was since I had just joined the guild at the time but I for sure got to know him quickly. It didn't take me long either to figure out that I liked this guy (a lot) and soon to realise that we also fit together well. Not long after we moved together across borders and now after 5 years with ups and downs (as there always is) we are still together and both still playing WoW. :)Sorry for the wall! I wasn't even sure if my story would count but it was very nostalgic and I had fun writing it so there you have it. :)Good luck to everyone and thank you Wowhead! <3
I met a good friend while playing WoW, and it turns out he was one of my friends cousin, giving us even more in common.
my friends ... my guild ...My queen and my wife... My Love... I LOVE YOU Spartans !
I feel lucky that I met everybody from my guild in person! and since the first meeting, we didn't stop making barbacues now and then... beer, good food, good people and WoW together, what else could you ask for?
