The biggest most important best feature WoW has ever had bigger than raids and Mythic+.

Completely caught up being in player housing. Endless possibilities.

If you've wanted player housing, this will likely exceed your expectations.

Super easy to change every aspect of design. Faction styles: Night Elf, Blood Elf, Human/Alliance, Orc/Horde. Draenei, Goblin, Zandalari & More.

There is a loading screen when you enter your house. It's not seemless like Delves, it will require some loading of assets.

Edit Build Mode

Character is in there controlling camera, but you're placing objects and customizing placement.

Can resize and scale things within generous parameters.

Up to 3 levels allowed currently.

Plenty of pre-made options that allows players to customize.

Different categories that can be filtered. Lights, furniture, etc.

Live room build done as an example: Pandaren Diner with tables, ovens, pantry, Onyxia's head on spit, etc. Used clipping to create items that might not already exist.

Animated & Interactables

Lots of animation on the lights that do illuminate the area. Still a work in progress.

Plenty of interactable objects. Guillotine called the 'Gilnean Problem Solver'.

Whole section in the menu for interactables.

Lore book that you can interact with that actually opens up the UI with the full Lore knowledge. Example: Story of the World Tree from Bel'ameth.

Professions & Functionality

Won't be a bank or Auction House. Nothing like the mine from Garrison. Maybe something for neighborhoods but not individual houses.

Nothing you get from Housing will help you optimize your character or progress in the game.

If it's ok to be done with a toy, it's probably okay for Player Housing.

Summoning Stone will be outside your house.

Color Customization

All the new assets are completely dyable. Dyes are available from Alchemy

Older assets may have more restricted customization and dyes.

Limitations

Windows you put on a wall won't automatically appear on the outside of your house.

Lighting from a window won't correlate with outside weather. Want it to be independent of outside changes.

Can have one Alliance home and one Horde home per account.

Exteriors & Neighborhoods

Only had access to the Human exteriors and neighborhood, but were shown mockups for other styles and neighborhoods.

Not just a dusty Durotar but lush with rivers and greenery.

Some houses are secluded while others are more central to the town. If you want a hermit hut or a social space you get to choose.

All house exteriors will have similar plot sizes, but interior size will vary based on your design.

Stable for mounts, but pets can wander about and make the space feel lived in. Alternate characters will likely work similarly to feel like a space for your Warband.

Unsure if there'll be communal space in neighborhoods, but still being talked about internally. Players were enthusiastic about spaces like guild halls, stages, etc.

Potential seasonal approach to housing, like working with holidays, to keep it feeling lively. Seasonal challenges or tie-ins could be on the table.

RP servers will likely have their own neighborhoods.

NPCs will be a part of your neighborhoods, but don't expect major lore characters.

Concerns

System is incredible for sure, but the Shop icon on the inventory could be disappointing depending on the content they're looking to sell.

Same philosophy for purchasable housing item as transmog and mounts from the store; shop exclusive items won't be earnable in-game.

Won't be able to see your exact house and neighborhood in the main continent, but you'll see an abstraction of it. Will require a loading screen even when flying into it.

Feedback

Devs incredibly open to our ideas. Offered suggestion of your character's portrait.

Wanted to let people make their own signs, but didn't want any toxic behavior.

Pitched trophies for Seasonal achievements ex: Keystone Legend, etc.

It's very hard to enjoy the reveal that we can have dramatically different racially themed interiors when I know I'll only be able to make them to fit a whopping two of my characters.

If neighborhoods keep lots of houses per account from happening, they need to let us make solitary plots. I absolutely appreciate the effort to avoid Garrisons 2, but give us the option. And what happens if you only play one faction? You only get one home?

I’m a role player. I was really looking forward to designing a house for my character. I suppose they’re too focused on the “player” part of player housing. I figure a lot of people will be buidling something to reflect them and their entire war and, but that’s not how I interact with the game and my characters. My blood elf warlock with shady jobs isn’t going to share housing with my nervous, introverted goblin shaman who hates warlocks with a passion.

I was happy when I heard our characters wouldn’t have to share the same space. I would’ve understood a limit to conserve resources, but only one per faction?

Will continue to remind myself that nothing is final yet, but, yikes, I suddenly am much less hopeful.Comment by CoDiiLusOne Alliance and one Horde home? This feels like it needs to change. But one big bad thing has become official: only 1 house per account (and per faction).

My main is a night elf, because... *drood*. But I have lots of dwarfs alts because I love that race. And only my elf is in a guild.
So I was thinking about making a big house that would suit all my dwarves, and a smaller, more simple house for my elf so that he could enjoy my guild neighbourhood.
Now I see that I'm going to have to choose between having a small druid house to take part in my guild's village, or making the dwarven house of my dreams but be excluded from the guild neighbourhood (or be there with a house that doesn't represent my guild character at all). And that's extremely sad.

Furthermore, I see that the roleplay servers will have separate neighbourhoods. If it's just for public areas, that's a great idea! But it's imperative that the private areas (guild/community) are open to everyone. I'm part of a roleplay community that groups players together, whatever their realm is, so that they can take part in events.
