The only thing I didn't fully understand was the discount thing. Now it's all good, thanks :D
I had no idea the discount was account wide! That changes things and makes gearing alts way better. I'm actually shocked how good that is!
In other words, Crests are basically VPs hard weekly cap ver 2.0 converted into soft cap, since those are capped at max 10 each week and requires only once for each slot/ilvl upgrade. The difference being as the time goes they won't have to remove/increase the cap but in first few weeks it's just another fancy way to time gate gear progression for casual M+ players who would most likely be doing mid keys for those few weeks. You have multiple 3 ilvl differences in gear drops as key levels go higher hence you need more crests to upgrade each time or hold onto those tightly and hope for high ilvl gear drop as you push keys with still having lower gear on you. In other words catch-22 of waste crests to upgrade gear early for easier push or struggle with lower gear and keep hoarding crests in hopes to spend fewer crests.
Only thing i dont like is you can no longer get an item on a lower key and upgrade it fully.
I'm pretty sure that you also get Drake fragments (Used for Veteran gear) from Cavern rare spawns.
They overcomplicated the system ... one money Valor points was enough
The upgrade system is great but crests for crafted gear is where the real power is. 447 perfectly stated gear is very significant and you can essentially make 2 of this a week and 5 in 2 weeks with the cap, so you're actually limited by shadow sparks to one every 2 weeks. Still expect to see lots of people decked in mostly created great by end of season.
This bull^&*! system isn't going to age well. Why does Blizzard keep changing systems and making them worse than before?
Editing my post because I am dumb. Those who like to WQ and rare hunt will probably be upgrading to the 411 spot. that is acceptable to me
