So we're making it harder for lower ilvl loot
Cool, so now you have to do the equivalent of roughly a +20 to get max vaults and the new affix isn't even a "kiss/curse", but simply a curse-only making it that much harder. They do realize there is no power growth from external systems in this expansion right? Classes didn't go from doing +10's at the start of the expansion to +30's at the end because of gear. It was all the external power, legendaries, then double legos, then tier set, and conduits, etc. Those things grew as expansion went on and we don't have any of that so that curve seems super steep for no reason.
No positive (kiss) seasonal affix that provides any sort of buffIncreased level of the key to get mythic raid level gear only ONCE a weekFurther increased difficulty level by increasing the scaling factorYup, Blizz really love M+ only players and genuinely want to keep an end game PVE progression path alternative to raids.
Bruh, I could barely handle Mythic+ with an experienced carry team. I can't imagine how increased difficulty is a good thing since loot is generally not expected to be helpful.
This is a great change me and all my casual friends love this thank you blizzard
a see a lot of people leaving mad comments here... its simple guys, level 20 item level gears are for those who can complete a 20 dun. you guys just mad u cant get max ilvl loot doing a "weekly 15" like you did for the past 2 expansions. Thank you blizzard, and yes M+ was way too easy in SL where u could push up to 15 watching netflix, it only got hard at 18/20+. you want free loot handed to you ? get out of here
Less chance of bad players getting higher loot is only a good thing for the game.Loot should be earned not given!
Hell yea this is great. It makes sense that not everyone will get the highest ilvl loot. You should have never been able to get the best loot for the lowest amount of effort.
All everyone wanted is more challenge and less ilevel from m+, thanks JB!
The scaling changes actually mean nothing without context. The scaling changes are not being applied to dungeons we know the difficulty of, meaning that if the Baseline dungeons are easier, it is possible for harder scaling to still yield an easier dungeon then we currently have. Its possible that these changes exist so that 2-10 are easier, and 11-20 are roughly similar to what we have now, and past 20 is more difficult. So until we have proper context relative to being properly geared, these numbers more or less have no meaning.
And once again a wowhead article forgets to mention that the sheet is not comparing SL to DF, but SL S4 to DF. Season 4 noticably increased the baseline of m0 mobs compared to S1-S3. Thats why if the ability and autodamage tuning itself remains roughly on the same level, a 20 Key in DF S1 will be close to a Shadowlands S1 key at 25. Cant tell for granted until release, but those numbers make me assume they're softcapping gearprogression big time.
For those keeping track at home, the "less ilvl" comments are incorrect. 415 gear, the dragonflight equivalent to 304 gear, shows up in your vault if you do a +16. +20s award 421 ilvl, which is the equivalent of current 310 gear. This is somewhat complicated by the fact that the last two bosses of mythic vault of the incarnates drop the equivalent of 314 instead of the 311 that fated raids give, but ultimately the gap is smaller than ever. There are gear slots where the raid caps out at 415, so the highest ilvl loot in the game is a 421 piece from the M+ vault. Raid will still have items which are BiS for M+, but this is a major buff to M+ loot if you rise to the challenge and only a small nerf if you stay at the +15 level.
I don't know what everyone's complaining about. First - With the new talent trees, you have access to the abilities you would get from multiple legendaries, and multiple points from the same rows in the existing talent trees. There's your offset for borrowed power already. Second, if you're not good enough to do 20s, why do you deserve the loot from a 20? 22s aren't that hard in the current season, so I don't see 20's being out of reach at all. If you're struggling to complete 15s then you need to check where your priorities are.Compare this to mythic raiding - that basically cannot be done unless you have a well organised guild/group with comms or a majority of people with the right experience. Try pugging mythic raid with people who haven't completed, or have barely completed heroic - it won't happen. Same thing goes - if you struggle with 15s now, why do you deserve to have the max level gear when there are people who are pushing 25+? Big difference between you and them is that they're organised, they plan, they're meticulous with strategy and the use comms. Where you just pug it a hope for the best - how is it fair that people who are pushing 25-35 keys are stuck with the same gear as you, when you just leave the success of the dungeon to chance or getting carried?I think maxing at 20 is a good half-way point from beginner to experienced. And if you want to get the gear from 20s - learn to play, and put in the effort like those of us who actually push. I like a challenge, and I like this change. If you don't like a CHALLENGE, then don't do CHALLENGING content!
Increased difficulty is a good idea. However, having the max reward worse than mythic raid is not a good idea. Now if you want to compete at a high level you have to mythic raid.
