"Oh, cool, one decor I might actually care for"

but they look ugly

Comment by ChaosMonkey

I think the top half looks nice, but the stand/pedestal looks really bland and unfitting for the effigies.

Comment by Acolyyte

again i ask....who actually wants this stuff? Are there that many RPers? The housing is cute, but the amount of effort going into it has got to be a massive resource drain. Instead maybe they could be focusing on bringing racial customization up to snuff, adding transmog dyes, more/customizable druid forms, mounts that actually use new skeletons instead of just recycling the same 5 over and over again, vehicle combat, etc etc etc.....But instead the focus is on.....houses. a place that you...won't actually do anything at?

Still better than that helm that is the reward and looks awful and shoulders that are still subpar to the Void Elf gear. Blood Elves really got played dirty, cause they are playing second fiddle in an expansions that was supposed to be centered around them.

This is sick my trophy room in my house is gonna be filled with cool $%^& 💪❤️

There's plenty of people that want housing and have been asking for it for over a decade. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that applies to everyone. Not to mention, it's a whole new separate team working on housing. It literally isn't taking anything away from the previously existing WoW team. I agree that the lack of character customization is seriously sad, but that has nothing to do with housing being a thing.

Just sink the bust into some other decoration to hide it, it's what I will do

Feature people have asked for since WoW first launched. Your post is just ragebait at this point.

Some people legitimately cannot fathom others liking something they don't.

Houses are a nice game

You can collect stuff, create interesting layout and designs, role play, create community events It’s quite sophisticated

And did you forget how much sims and animal crossing are popular ?

It’s also a way to emphasize character progression with trophies and stuff.

I demanded that features for years. Not a mere dye system for armor.

But know that: NOW wow has a dye system for object.. it is built. Ready to be extended to another category of object…

Who? A massive part of the playerbase if you actually care to check. The smart thing about player housing is how it reuses assets from across 20 years of this game, that's what makes this feature way more efficient for development than you think.

Honestly, comments like these are the bane of our WoW community. If something isn't made to appease everybody, some of these folks will come out of the woodwork and complain that it is not worth developing. That's how we get features like pet battles getting cut, and PvP being ignored, because everyone acts like they are Blizzard shareholders looking at engagement metrics.

Worse part is, if Blizzard spent all that resource on player character customization instead, you know there will be people moving the goalpost to "why is Blizzard wasting resources on cosmetics that I won't be able to see because my transmog covers up everything anyway." The cycle never ends, and no one is happy. What an exhausting community.

shame thought it would be purpleish color

Damn, the pedestals kinda ruin it honestly. Would be cooler if they were just torsos emerging from portals or something.

If you actually care to learn I'd suggest you research your question on your own, as at this point anything the rest of us say seems to fall on deaf ears.

But since I'm here: player housing has been a request feature and a theorised topic literally since classic WoW, where portals in Org and Stormwind were rumoured to lead to future housing zones. The call for it was relatively quiet back then, but since WoD announcing Garrisons and people's negative reactions to them as a cop-out for player housing, both Blizzard's interest in proper housing and player's demands for it have grown almost every expansion. In fact the reaction to WoD being seen as a weak attempt at player housing is what got Blizzard to make a team in Legion to start working on the feature.

If you want to know how popular housing is just go on youtube and look up WoW housing, plenty of channels cover every bit of information in the alpha and beta, from established WoW creators to new channels that only started because of player housing. Entire website databases are dedicated to this thing. Addons have been made to support it.

My man actually wonders who wants housing, one of the main features that has been asked for for about two decades

Comment by FelStorm

Realize that a lot of these things arnt even unique to housing, the best part about housing is most of the housing decor will be stuff already made for out in the world, there is only a couple things that will only ever be housing unique.

Also a massive amount who are not Rpers enjoy housing. Housing is not just an RP thing, but just a general immersion thing.
Do people RP when they play animal crossing or minecraft or terraria or stardew valley? No, but do they still love to decorate their homes? Yes.

Comment by Rushgarroth

Whats about the item racks to display transmog/weapons/gear whatever. Havent they said we would be able to show others and even "wear" them as wardrobe like a fast mog feature

Comment by apedosmil

Looks cool, I hope the white/gold part is dyable, because otherwise it's not gonna match much.

Comment by Nymrohd

I think the top half looks nice, but the stand/pedestal looks really bland and unfitting for the effigies.

Just hide the pedestal inside another object then:)

People need to figure that the best results are going to come from making use of no collision to stack items and keep visible just the parts you want.

Comment by TheGoldenElm

Yep, those bases definitely need to be sunk into something else. But that's the fun with housing having such a robust editor where you can place an object any way you like and sunk in or floating. I can't wait to see how creative people get in mashing things together.
