I just wanna know who reported this to Blizzard. I just wanna talk.
I don't want them to remove the mounts.Instead, this could be a good springboard to take a look at the frankly ridiculous droprate of these mounts in the first place. These mounts are estimated to have a 1/2000 droprate. You get one attempt per character, per week.So if I HARD FOCUS on getting this one mount, to the point of parking 50 characters there and doing the kill with all of them every week, religiously? On average - assuming I don't have bad luck, it would take me nearly a year for it to drop.In what world is this reasonable to anyone? This is a game. This isn't a job, and it sure at hell shouldn't be a torture device. With that kind of droprate I don't think anyone would feel accomplished after it drops, or really have any emotion other than "Thank f**k it's over, now I never want to look at this bastard of a mount ever again".And there are four of these mounts in Pandaria alone.A mount on a weekly lockout has no business being anything below a 1/50 or so chance. If someone really focuses on getting it, it should be reasonable to get it in a sane time frame. And even if it's a 1/50, most people still wouldn't have it, since most people won't endlessly farm it. And it's years old content - it's not like it needs to last for decades to come, since it's a live game with more and more being added constantly.Add some kind of bad luck protection. Boost the droprate. Stop being ridiculous about it.
Devastated here. These bosses needed bad luck protection for so long. Maybe we can at least get reasonable bad luck protection after this situation.
For such rare mounts, the mounts are 100% removed.
Why did Wowhead not tweet this post?
Honestly i sympathize for all the people who farm this on 50 alts per week and i used to farm it alot back then too but got tired of logging out nd back nd flying back to the spot all the time, i wish theyd make it infinitely farmable, id actually spend alot of time just farming it on 1 (ONE) character while watching netflix nd such instead of worrying ab should i level even more alts nd toons for more chances! Please blizz either increase the drop rate and/or make it farmable infinitely on 1 character, as the other mounts like the love rocket, etc should be farmable on one character at this point!
Out of curiosity how do you weed out the people who "exploited" this and the people who were just farming the bosses like they normally do on reset with a shiny new class to try out?Everyone crying for bans should really stop and think things through.Remove the mounts dropped to evokers is a good solution, banning people over a bug that slipped past Blizz is just stupid.
This is stupid unfair.
The mount was a 33% drop chance. If your game rolled loot when you killed it, the only thing it could give you was the mount. It doesn't give a player power advantage so I don't see it being actioned. A few lucky people who probably already had 2k attempts anyway got a new mount. The only people this really matters to are those who missed out, who would have also gone for it.
This is a simple solution. It was an exploit. It should be removed like everything else that was exploited and removed.
For all those who say the mounts shouldn't be removed and only envious people ask for it, stop playing dumb this is about fair play. It's not like all the players who got the mount did it by chance, there are entire discord groups dedicated to look for bugs and once they find one their info spreads like wildfire. Of course there were people who genuinely just went for an extra weekly chance but the vast majority were just exploiting a known bug.
