Gorehowl, Might of the Warchief
is an HD version of one of the most iconic weapons in World of Warcraft's history, and is a reward able to drop from the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon. Players have discovered an Easter Egg associated with this axe - it can summon the spirit of Grommash Hellscream!
Thank you to Conmanw for this information!
Gorehowl
Forged for the chieftains of the Warsong clan, Gorehowl was most famously wielded by Grommash Hellscream, who used it to split open the head of the pit lord Mannaroth, freeing the orcs from the blood curse. Later, Gorehowl was wielded by his son, Garrosh Hellscream.
The axe can drop from the Time-Lost Battlefield encounter in the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon, where an alternative universe version of
Grommash Hellscream
leads the Horde in endless battle against an Alliance led by alternative-universe
Anduin Lothar
.
Spirit of Grommash Hellscream
In order to see the spirit of Grommash Hellscream, players appear to need to meet the following requirements.
You're an Orc, or a Mag'har Orc.
You've chosen the Warsong clan by selecting the Warsong banner
as part of the Heritage armor questline
.
You have
Gorehowl, Might of the Warchief
in your possession - in your bags, or equipped.
Once all these requirements are met, the spirit of Grommash Hellscream occasionally spawns to salute you!

"Grommash" - Why not just call him Grom?

I had no idea mannoroth's head was in the middle of his torso
Look closer. It’s clearly not mannorath’s skull. It’s literally the same model from WoD
Since there's a couple of you now that don't seem to understand what I'm saying here:
The article says grom "split open the head of the pit lord Mannaroth, freeing the orcs from the blood curse" when he didn't even hit the head. Article author got a little thing wrong and I decided to poke a little fun
You need to rewatch the Warlords cinematic for this very thing.
Because you are wrong, shock and awe, the author was correct.
That wasn't him freeing the Orcs from the Blood Curse. That was him mercing Mannoroth when he was trying to corrupt the orcs on alt draenor.
When Grom freed the Orcs from the Blood Curse, it was in WC3 in Ashenvale after the orcs drank again from a well tainted with Mannoroth's blood, turning them into Fel Orcs. He used Gorehowl to strike through Mannoroth's chestplate, killing the demon and freeing the Orcs from the Blood Curse.
Because you are wrong, shock and awe, the OP was correct.

Guess you didnt see the warlords of draenor video when grommash leaped in the air and slammed gorehowl into mannoroth's head...then it was pulled out and tossed to grommash....
Guess you didn't see the Warcraft 3 video when Grommash leaped in the air and slammed Gorehowl in Mannaroths abdomen... then the blood curse was lifted and Grom died.

Games Workshop has been trigger happy with their IP. Blizz had to fully use Grommash instead of Grom (As there is an Ork Grom in Warhammer) including the WC3 remake, and they had to remove someone saying "Greenskins" from the Arathi Warfront.

The Author was incorrect in mentioning Blood Curse, the Mannaroth that was killed for the Blood Curse was the one that was sliced in the abdomen, the one that had his skull split open only had Gul'dan cursed at the time of the cinematic.
