Game Director Ion Hazzikostas on Soloing Legion Content in the Pre-Patch

Blizzard

Hi. I just copied a toon to PTR with which I can solo NighHold, but on PTR she struggles with trash and dies to Skorpyron after 30 seconds.

Video on Live server (kill in 2 mins): https://youtu.be/-byH0AucBFM 11
Video on PTR (die after 30 secs): https://youtu.be/TsguSmjM-ts 17

I’m not an expert in DK, but I can kill the boss standing still with no hassle on live server.

Apparently quite a few people here haven’t played the PTR. So let me break down the problem. Currently, on live, I can solo most Legion raids until Antorus (on normal). I can blast through Legion dungeons 1 or two shotting things on mythic. On normal I step into the dungeon and the mobs pretty much explode on their own.

Now, on the PTR, I can barely handle trash, and if I do make it to the first boss, I get stomped into the ground. That kind of power loss is not “Oh you just lost your corruptions.” Because I have almost no corruptions on any of my characters. That is a horrible error in tuning old content.

It has nothing to do with losing a very recent borrowed power that I don’t even use, and everything to do with a bug that should be fixed long before the pre patch hits live servers.

Wasnt there a whole scale to 50 for all the content ? Like Classic 1-50 BC 1-50 WOTLK 1-50... ? That you can do all dungeons and raids at 50 ? Because cant see that change on beta or on PTR right now ? MC with 50 and all the other raids ?

That was only for levelling - once you're 50+ they have a fixed level similar to their current.

They said for the last time for BfA, Legion, WoD etc.

Yes, the Legion to BFA Stat Squish and pre-patch was significantly smoother than the last MoP-WoD prepatch, and they implemented tech to make stat squishing and transitioning from one expansion to the next much easier on the devs, and less buggy.

Still, there were bugs and problems, that were smoothed out (for the most part, I think a couple of bosses were still wonky and weren't fixed until 8.1).

So don't take an entire day off for the first day of pre-patch and expect everything to be completely smoothed. There will be bugs that can't really be avoided. All this should be fixed over the course of pre-patch and going into the actual Shadowlands launch content.

How would blizzard know what the bugs are if people don't point them out, like in this article?

As to Legacy loot I didn't see it active for either WoD or Legion but TLK content aswell, Onyxia's lair.

I like how Ion is trying to blame corruption's when I don't have a single corruption on a single piece of BFA gear. I have cleansed every piece that I have and my ilvl is 451. In retail without a single goddamn corruption I can solo all of the Legion raids very easily.

On the PTR tomb of sargeras, I can't even get past the first boss. I can't even move his health bar. So Ian is lying if he tries to say that this has a single goddamn thing to do with Corruptions.
Again I don't have any Corruptions on my main character.
Not a single one and I can kill everything very easily on any setting in Legion retail raids But can't even kill a single boss with that same character on the PTR.

if Ion tries to blame this on Corruptions then he is just a liar

dammit...its people like YOU who do this crap and are the REASON why Ion pulls this !@#$ every time.
HE SAID we'd be able to solo the SAME #$%^.....he needs to be held to that .
Im sick of paying for this damned game that ION continues to screw over and fanboys like you keep telling everyone its ok for him to do it !

climb a fkn rope, fanboy...YOU are the reason why Ion keeps pulling %^&* like trying to remove flight and taking away the goddam water walking on mounts WE fkn did the grind for....TWICE.

Go play some other game so Ion doesnt think he has a bunch of limp wristed wimp boys who'll let him do any goddam thing he wants and keep forking over their gaming $$$ like a bunch of cowards.

Ion said the game would be one way...as a PAYING FKN CUSTOMER...YEAH, BOY...I WANT THE ADVERTISED PRODUCT.

Well, Legion levels up to 45..the raid boss I hit...the first one of the Tomb of Sargeras...leveled up to 47.

Im level 50, for god sake...what other raid can we solo with that small percentage of a level spread?
Its their scaling thats a problem.
Ion SAID @#$% would scale down to 35ish when we were 50. That AINT happening.
My guess is they said one thing...then DID something else based on MOST of the bull @#$% Im seeing on the PTR.

Love that we are basically now in Jan 2021 and Ion completely lied to the players.

I like many are now voting with the only power we have, my subscription.
