Anything that incentivizes people to be more social is good. The more people do difficult premade content with actual premade groups instead of random pugs the less they will complain about how difficult content is or how toxic people are.
Why was this not in the game already?
Has anyone figured out a way to hide this icon in the game chat at least, or a best a way to opt of this system? Like the other posters here, there are already tools for connecting with people you like. This feature feels like spam.In a raid with guildies and now every chat comment has this useless icon added to it.
There is no way to opt out of this system entirely. All we can do is turn off the ability for others to track us.But why do I care about the dude who ran up to the elite I was fighting so that he could tag it and run off? I don't need these people on a list. I don't want different colored names or obnoxious person icons. Of all the things to waste time on... this wasn't one of them that was needed.
There is something incredibly wrong with Recent Allies, as well. My list is full of people that it says I whispered (or whispered me) when that never happened. I'm losing my *mind* seeing people with blue names AS IF THEY WERE CHARACTERS I HAD FRIENDED when they AREN'T. If you want to give me a list that I can CHOOSE to check to see if any of the people I just ran with are still around...well, cool. But stop with coloring their names. That's a step too far. I already HAVE a setting where characters' names get colored blue, and that's IF I FRIENDED THEM....also, having to hide my location on literally each and every character is uncool. Privacy should be account-wide, with an option to opt OUT of hiding location. The default should not be 'show people where I am!'
Whelp.... It's October, and it's still here. No opt-out that I can find AND I HATE IT.Ugh. I wish I were good at coding so I could design a mod to block this. >_<
This is hot garbage and should be removed immediately
As a 2x R1 player who has only pugged this is a great feature. However, they seem to have forgotten to make it so you can actually cross faction whisper the players on this list. "It is considered polite to message a player before inviting them to a group" which you can't even do lol
I was so confused when I started seeing light-blue player names around me, but they weren't on my friends list as light-blue names would usually indicate. Now I can't trust a light-blue name at a glance, as it might just be a rando guy I was in a dungeon with.Short comment: terrible update, especially without the option to turn it off.
