My final challenge for the soaring spelltome was Havoc DH- Xyelm. By far the most tedious fight, however, once you get a rhythm with managing your HP and efficiently pre-moving on the clones phase, you start to consistently get to P2 and that becomes automatic. Then after seeing P2 a few times you start to understand the damage profile needed for the adds and how to manage the space on the platform. I really enjoyed the incremental progress of every pull. This has been such a fun event for me. Shadow priest was the second hardest (personally). I took an easy path for the others: Fire mage, WW monk, Hpal, Vengeance DH, Enhance Sham.
Was very eager to do it and ressubed mostly for mage tower , after spending multiple hours as fury warrior hitting brick wall i craftet 2 ilvl 48 weapons (down from main 236) and 2 knight enchants and few ilvl 186 blues i facerolled it in a single attempt so F**K THIS TYPE OF BALANCING. Decided not to bother with mount and other classes coz due to balance you cant skill it out and have to use different gimmick and abuse downgrades to finish which requires time and gold on top of tries of event itself.Highly disappointed in Blizzard and their capabilities of doing balance of any type.
Same. No point stressing myself out over it when it will inevitably be nerfed so they can have something to advertise in several months to get some subs back.
Lost any interest in this when it quickly became apparent that you could become 'stronger' only by slogging through old content for specific gear (namely for sockets or certain trinkets), or buying BOEs off the AH for exorbitant prices. Hopefully next time they learn from this and establish gear templates so they can tune the encounters properly.
It would be a shame if they nerfed it, not all content needs to be accessible to everyone, just like 20+ mythic dungeons, arena gladiator and mythic raiding. It's also awesome that there is no boosting involved in the Mage Tower, so you can't cheat your achievements like in most other parts of the game.
single player content ist by far the easiest content to "boost" ppl. that no one sells this boost is a sign, that u need a lot old gear.. all the "ez cheeze" ppl had incredible luck and minimal best trinkets which are far overpowered for this content. ofc no one will answer, that they abused trinkets or enchants (crusader) for massive healing. i did a lot challenges and often wiped at 3% before success.. with the best trinkets it would be done before and save time.
Honestly folks, if I could do it on my Guardian Druid, so can you. Sure it took me 300 attempts but it isn't impossible.
Frost mage was 1st pull for me. Paladin took like 10 maybe. All green AH items, best consumes available. Frost mage used to be a WAY harder challenge in Legion (meaning first month of MT release). Most of the players are playing without a free camera (which actually means they cannot play good). Definitely hardest challenges were FDK, Discipline, BDK, Holypriest for me. Others were done in 1-10 pulls max. Guardian is the easiest tank challenge if you know how to play. Takes approx 3.30 mins to complete it, 1 infernal and 2 annihilations. He shall die before his 3rd cast.
I did balance druid challenge after 40 attempts and I kinda cheesed it. I figured out you can kill Karam first in the last phase, Raesh will enrage himself and then just soak zones + selfheal + starfall adds (no more hands!)
Overall they were WAY easier than they were during Legion. Was surprised to find that havoc DH (which was the easiest during Legion) ended up being one of the most difficult (probably the only one that was definitely a little more difficult than it was in Legion), and hunter ones seemed maybe slightly more difficult (which is a good thing though, since they were too easy in Legion), but some of them like all of the mage ones, warlock, balance druid were stupidly easy in this iteration.Makes sense it would be so much easier overall this time around though since it's a limited event.
