So much far-fetched interpretation going on in this post...
Incredible breakdown. Would love to see more in-depth analysis of key art like this in the future! :)
One of the first things I noticed with this image is that there are exactly nine Mawsworn flying in the distance - I like to believe this is alluding to Sylvanas's nine valkyr!
i still think anduin will come out of Jailer's control by himself considering the story always focus on "his strong will and his belief on hope" and that's why he can resist against jailer even for a few seconds.by the way that armor looks dope...
Could this art foreshadow last 2 bosses of the expansion? Or a mythic-only phase?
. . . I'm worried for Anduin, and this key art doesn't help matters. I honestly pray we manage to free him without any lingering Jailer corruption that would make him "edgy" or "grim" or "start the 5th war" or some other contrived tripe . . . I just want my kind and just king back . . .
"The golden one claims a vacant throne."
He’s not a death knight though; his eyes didn’t keep glowing when he broke through the Jailers control in the first cinematic.
Great analysis, can't wait for more!
To me it doesn't appear that the jailer smoke is overshadowing Anduin more so it looks like it is actually exuding from him. It as though in this very picture the jailer is currently possessing Anduin.
Ok but who is the artist?
So many words and reachings without touching on the most obvious: the fact that Sylvanas isn't present, after the look of doubt she gave him in the cinematic that says more than w/e this was.
Someone was an Art Studies major in college. Look, sometimes art is art and nothing is to be learned from that piece of art work. It was just done because the artist said "Yup, that looks cool!"
Really cool piece!
I'm doing oil painting again after a long hiatus so this article perfectly fit into the mindset of integrating hue, saturation, values into composition. Articulating what makes art works is a skill, a necessity for colleagues. Good job, author.
Anduin to Manduin to Mawduin. What comes next? Golduin and Tyrantuin? Or simply Deaduin? Maybe Lightuin. We might find it out in a few weeks...
only he's not a death knight. The Death Knights are dead. He's just controlled by Zovaal
I hope this means we get to kill this useless character that been forced upon us for years..
