Extended Maintenance Scheduled for Friday 1/19 for US Realms

We will be performing scheduled maintenance beginning on Friday, January 19th, 7:00 AM (PST) and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 3:00 PM (PST). During this time the game will be unavailable for play.

Comment by 1836437A friend of mine sent me this, not sure how valid this statement is but it does seem to "fit" with the random 8 Hour server maintenance on a Friday...

Newly registered user on this site so I cant seem to link the picture, but its a picture of a tweet or some kind of social media site/app, possibly discord, that reads as follows:

"TLDR of it is. one engineer decided he was gonna try some compression hack on database files for 7.3.5 to reduce memory usage slightly to help 32 bit version of wow use less memory. it backfired like h*** and f***** whole game up. the compressed databases are eating cpu and running like a**, especially in raids. to fix it, they have to redploy like most of patch. which means realm maintenance and everything. that's not public info yet, but will be soon. they are scheduling full patch maintenance for friday morning"Comment by JoyeuxNoel"extended" maintenance......... A lot of my fun in downtime in the game will be gone, boredom will set in and there will be no point to the game anymore. I know many didn't play the PTR, but there isn't incentive to play the PTR. Why level up a character fully on there when we could do it in-game and have all the benefits of another character. It's not new content. Maybe they should have given free boosts on live for those that fully leveled on the PTR to test to make it worth it. Maybe an exlusive mount or pet that would make people want to waste their time being the quality control on the game. It was too vast a project released far too early without proper testing.
