Echoes of Ny'alotha Rewarded from Emissary Quests Fix - Bonus Reputation from Contracts Removed

Since we added Echoes of Ny’alotha as a reward from Emissary Quests, we’ve had a bug that needed to be quickly squashed. Today, we’ve deployed a hotfix that solve it without removing Echoes of Ny’alotha from Emissary Quests.

Instead, we’ve removed the bonus reputation reward that Contracts provide from Emissary Quest turn-ins. No other Quest rewards are affected.

You’ll see a side effect to this: Echoes of Ny’alotha are hidden in the Emissary and Quest panes of the UI. Nonetheless, you should see the Echoes in your chat log when you turn-in Emissary Quests (on characters that are eligible for Echoes).

Suppose that there's a limited number of slots for currencies/rep/items/etc.to be granted from Emissaries, We'll say 5. That makes one for the listed emissary reward, one for the base rep, one for the AP, one for War Resources (when you have the appropriate research on the boat) and one for Contract bonus rep. It's possible that the game is programmed to ALWAYS have the War Resources and Contract rep slots "filled", even if you don't actually get any rewards via those slots. This would naturally cause issues when trying to add a sixth currency (Echoes), so the simplest solution was to replace the least-useful slot with Echoes, and the least-useful reward from Emissaries is, of course, Contract bonus rep.

I am in no way affiliated with Blizzard, nor do I know the inner workings of the game. Why does the system even work like that in the first place? Emissaries are a relatively modern addition to the game, I have a hard time believing this reward limit they are having issues with today is just some relic that got overlooked.Comment by Arelmas1Or we all end up playing the most OP class......Demon Hunter.
