Great start and framework. The base idea of buttons, small buff tracks, and bar tracks is a great set of features. Once they enable us to pick which thing goes into each location/tracker type and in what order they are arranged I'll probably get rid of my class auras.
IMO, if this worked like the now-defunct addon CoolLine Cooldowns, (which was just a bar with times 0s-6m that only displayed icons while they were on cooldown), that would be awesome.
without the ability to add remove spells and such this is half baked and mostly useless . blizz needs to stay in their lane , either make the game simple enough to not need addons or keep in complex and let addon do the work. since addon managers seem offer a better option
Isnt this just like an action bar with the Spells on it?
2 articles on this new feature and I still don't see anyone explaining what it actually does.
Having used it on the PTR, I think its mostly dead on arrival because Blizz doesnt let you choose what gets tracked, it just tracks everything Blizz thinks should be tracked. Kinda useless for me.
Seems useful, but it's kinda ugly looking. If I'd want one of these, I'd rather just get the wago WA version because they look nicer (not to mention other benefits).
This looks great for what it is! And for everything it isn't: Weakauras still exist. Like many people, I also hope that Blizzard will expand on this in the future with the ability to customize the order of tracked spells, grouping, and to let us blacklist / whitelist abilities. Until then, they gotta start somewhere, and this seems like a solid place to start!
Holy Toledo, I thought that was a WA and was just looking at the tracker with ER and Shadowfiend.Cool. Will check out when its live. I've managed to curb my WA addiction; there's only one WA that I really really want (its a resto hot tracker if you need to know) but to save loading time, I've stopped using it.
Maybe I missed the point of this...Also, why do people play pounding the same key over and over when the ability is still on cooldown. Hit your keys like a piano player, not an arcade Street Fighter button masher... sheesh.
I think it will be great for people who dislike are unfamiliar/uncomfortable with addons. In my guild alone we have quite a few who play the basic UI and no addons for whatever reason. This will at least give them a step in the right direction.Of course this isn't for everyone. As a lot of us enjoy tweaking our UI's nearly as much as we play the game.
I am— this is literally the same as dragging an action bar with all your cooldowns to the middle of the screen just to watch them tick down, something you could already do. This is so underwhelming!
The only reason to put something like this in the game is so they can point at it when people complain about raid mechanic bloat. It's a fig leaf.
It's great that these will be baseline for players, even those who haven't learned about addons yet.
I am once again asking for a Maelstrom Weapon tracker similar to Paladin Holy Power.
