Stay classy, it's part of the experience. Most of the players will just enjoy the time of questing and hard leveling with all of it's worst things, probably never gonna see any raid. But thats ok, if some guilds manage to get in raids, with all the time of prepairing, farming, suffering, horrible specs and pain in the ass....hell yeah i'll salute.
Please consider when reading these comments1. Vanilla Wow was a financial goldmine and an industry gamechanger as it existed, flaws and all. 2. Most if not all of the private servers are mirrors of as close as they can get it to pure Vanilla Wow. 3. Blizzard did not want to do this, and openly mocked the community for wanting this. 4. Blizzard already has the capability to launch Classic WoW; the only time hindrance would be training or writing up guidelines for customer service, what most of you consider gamemasters. 5. the only reason Blizzard should even remotely be considering putting more work, QoL improvements, into a product they already own and can produce, is that they are considering raising the free to play level cap to a free version of "Classic Wow", in the hope that an additional 40 levels will increase endgame interest of new players. 6. You can have both. I don't know why the community limits its mindset, but you can have both a Classic Wow that is pure Vanilla, and a Classic Wow that includes QoL improvements on two different and separate servers. CAKE and ICECREAM, with a side of hot pie.
Classic had an actual concept of 'Balance', not "everyone should do the same dps no matter what spec they are in, except rogues who can go to hell".In Classic, if you could heal, you already had an advantage over those who couldn't, so it made sense to do less dps. After all, you were much more likely to survive the mass debuffing and doting that bosses threw out if you could dispel or heal yourself. Same with tanks, you might NOT get 1-shot by the boss turning at the wrong second, so you would survive to do more damage in the long-term than the 5 rogues who all just instantly died (oh the days before Cheat Death...).To a lesser extent this applied to ranged as well, since ranged will always be able to do damage regardless of positioning, they did less damage than a melee. Now everyone is expected to do comparable dps, which makes no sense since if you can heal yourself, survive boss hits, attack from ranged, attack while moving, and buff the raid why would you play any class that can't do those things? And that's how Rogues became replaced by Druids and DHs.
The eurogamer interview indicated that the philosophy is Classic WoW exactly for better or worse. So I don't understand the mixed message. Is there still internal debate? or are the CMs out of the loop and haven't even kept up with the devs statements?
Just let everything as $%^& as it was *!@# cause Vanilla was and is just a $%^&festival. It was fun cause it was new and it was nice top play in an epic story mmorpg. But thats it. Its called Nostalgia Factor. Most specs werent playable at all. Some classes werent any usefull at all. Bosses were as easy as 5 man dungeon Bosses are now on 10 M+ keys. Just let everything as !@#$ed as it was on 1.11 Patch.
What would be the point of bringing back vanilla in any other way than the original one?If it has tweaks is not vanilla, is normal wow 60 capped with the old map....
Curious though, I wonder if the p servers hardcores are maybe worried about losing the sizable advantage they will have over those of us who only played on legal servets
I don't quite remember the situation with add-ons like Healbot in Vanilla. Could they automatically change the spell based on some conditions?
So many people complaining about how unbalanced and slow everything was, and talking smack about the people who want to play it like it originally was. If you don't like it, you don't have to play it. Go complain about current WoW, not something you have no desire to be a part of. It's not rocket science. Some people actually ENJOYED the challenge the game provided, and the lack of quality of life stuff that was later added to the game. The little things like that make all the difference. If you seriously can't play without all the added crap, go find a private server or just stick with Legion.
Why is this even an issue? Class balance should be as it was in Classic and be SLOWLY resolved depending on what the community decides. Blizzard has shown and said repeatedly that their idea of balance isn't even balance it's to make a FOTM each patch to make people happy. They cannot be trusted to do a good job so why even leave it to them? Have the community vote on what class changes they'd like made AFTER classic has been released for a little while. Majority of the people chiming in on this discussion wont even be playing classic servers a few months down the road so it's useless to even leave it to us until the games player base solidifies. IF class balance is a deal breaker for you, you wouldn't even be playing WoW in it's current state.
i can not wrote all my feelings because i would be banned again DO NOT CHANGE A F.CKING THINg IN CLASSIC.Because since they are palnning to remove TIER sets from bfa because these ........ made TITANForing and warforing a fu.... thing and Tier sets in legion so ...... and legendaries so.... ofc almot eveyrone would agree to get rid of them ofc cause they made it this way.
I want classic wow the way it was, no changes other than ‚obvious gamebreaking bug‘ fixes.
As a classic player from the very first month it went live, I would like to see the classes completely revamped and tweaked (balanced in the process obv). All classes have to be playable, gearable, and viable.. hybrids aren't hybrids if only 1 spec is an option, as a matter of fact, spec changes or dual-spec system should be possible as well. Just don't prune away at the Spellbook rendering the char handicapped, playing like a lvl 12 at max lvl. Some QoL improvements are more than welcome, within the boundaries of its concept, I mean, it's not like profession improvements or guild perks hurt the concept in any way. Quite the contrary, especially the features that enhance the integrity of a community. Basic stuff like flying mounts or pet battles are an option I guess.. Just not really needed?I see "modern" stats as an absolute necessity: the game would feel incredibly dull with 3s hardcasts. Even with the wotlk ARP/haste/crit/exp system it's fine, with the addition of spirit to hit, and additionally lower caps for casters to compensate. All this to be taken cum grano salis.. but in the end I think the point I tried to make is clear.. Classic needs to retain its flavour, everything that hurts its image fundamentally or is unnecessary rubbish, should be disregarded, but making it a cool spin on a beloved classic is what would yield best results imho. An out-of-date clone is not welcome.Close-minded people will always complain, people who disdain genre-weaving in music, or say Disturbed's covers of Land of Confusion or Sound of Silence are sacrilege come to mind.
As someone who had a Warlock as a main, pre 2.0 Vanilla pls. In all it's one shot plate pvp goodness. <3 SM/RuinI'm just fine w/ no 2.0/post 2.0 QoL features. They could roll content out in phases though, start w/ the T1 raids, and later release 2, 2.5 then 3. That would give Blizz time to work the old raids back into existence.
