Typo: Arthas MenAthil
what a way to ruin a perfect character, giving him a weak sendoff
"Her Hero's Journey"Hahahahahaha. She has no arc, no redeeming qualities, and no growth. And I love how the author just underplays how bad that cinematic was by saying "Some" people question it, as if it isn't 99% of the community.. Just stop.
Crap, I accidentally clicked on the article of he who must be forgotten. Please forgive me, Lady Windrunner.
This article has to be a joke. Arthas' story ended at the end of Wrath of the Lich King. He was only dug up from his grave by the current writers to add continuity to their botched attempt at expanding Warcraft's universe and to inflate the meaningfulness of the current storyline (while also pulling on the nostalgia of many fans), because he was a far more memorable and solid character in a much richer story than anything the current writing team could ever produce. This article seems to only pay tribute to that awfully exploitative move.A developer said around the start of Shadowlands, or sometime before, that they would not use Arthas unless it was something meaningful. Unsurprisingly, their integrity when it comes to respecting the Warcraft lore is null and void. Just look to their recent lore books.
The psychological assumptions the author makes is just dead wrong. But other than that, it's an interesting article. Arthas was a cool character. Rip.
King of the Lichs there is only one, it is Arthas, just hearing the music in the background gives me a nostalgia, I can't wait for the return of wotlk classic
Honestly, after all the references of Arthas in Anduin's cinematics these past years, I think they had to rush the patches and ended up pulling this "story in three chapters" out of their asses. As someone else said in another article, maybe it's better that they just did this ending because the actual lore team would $%^& the character if they got their hands on him.
Iirc, they mentioned that after a soul has been completely destroyed, it’s just remade into something else. So it may not be the end. They could reincarnate Arthas’s soul over again and continue pissing on his character.
Not just Arthas, but a KING Arthas!
Lmao literally garbage story ruining older great character, truly blizzard writers are the worst in the industry and you cant blame afrasiabi for that
^&*! Arthas. Be happy his fragment got reclaimed. He should be burning in maw for all eternity for atricities he did since burning of stratholme.
Cinematic should have been 10 mins long and not 3 mins. Uther and Jaina should have had lines, hell they should made so Arthas was like a ghost that was shimmering away slowly so Jaina and Uther could hold him at the very end of his story. This wasn't a throw away character they ruined, this was someone and has been in the story pretty much sence day 1. I want Steve off the writing chair, i don't care if he can write his story now. he has ruin ours just to make it somewhat okay for him to start writing his, i say piss off to that!
I'm sorry, but this whole cinematic was the WOW Devs taking one massive dump on one of the most beloved characters in one of the most beloved expansions of the game.If this was not an intentional attempt to utterly decimate both, then it shows a staggering incompetence about reading the room, understanding the characters and what aspects of the lore keep us coming back to the game. This is like saying "People like Captain America. Let's kill him off and then let him reveal on his deathbed that he always worked for the Nazis."You cannot take a figure like Arthas, who cast such a huge shadow over the game, who people loved and loved to hate, and then tease that he will have an appearance, just to make him literally a fart in the wind that blows away. That is really spitting into players eyes. No surprise that the writing team of the last two expansions is so reviled by the playerbase.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbIUBZnHY7UFor me Arthas story ended with the end in Icecrown Citadel
I liked it.Sue me.
A nicely made cinematic in here but a sad end to a very memorable character....RIP Arthas Menethiland to those complaining that "WoW is dead" you may want to check the FACTS before using arrogant and/or ignorant assumption ....https://hostingtribunal.com/blog/wow-player-count/#grefWoW is far from dead, but admittedly, also nowhere near as popular as it once was .
