I think is great that they are doing this to make the tournment similar to live keysI dont think it is great that we need to use cataclysm engeneer enchants on live keys because tanks are squish and are forced to kite all the time
It is nice that previous expansion items are still useful. There should always be uses for items so as content doesn't become completely useless and just takes up space.
Blizzard: You must recraft new versions of combat rezes, drums and talent tomes each expansion! Also Blizzard: A decade old enchant being BiS? Don't see any problems.
In the spirit of being closer to live, TR keys should also reroll randomly when timed/depleted in time trials and the competition.
When people say "Oh look they don't make tanks tanky enough lol so they add this"I mean.. bro, no matter how tanky you are, this is the great push so, you'll always have to kite no matter what. a +26 you'll have to kite, even if they made you take 20% reduced damage, kiting is just better. Less damage taken, less healing needed, more damage. In what key can tanks tank like immobile rocks? +18, so MDI, but the time trial nature makes them pack more and more instead of static tanking, it's not about "oh tanks are so squishy" (i mean they are but, that's not the real deal for M+) is the meta of "pack more, scale higher, so damage becomes less tolerable and kiting is better". Until they add a mechanic that literally buffs those that stay within X yards of enemies, or increase their damage done/- damage taken, you'll have a kite meta. Doesn't matter if they make you 30% more resilient, , that still applies to kiting tanks therefore everyone will keep on kiting, shown after the buff when no tank changed position, even with DH nerf, the kite strategy remains superior
Are they really officially offering old stuff abused by top players as a bandaid for their bad tank balance? If it had started from a Chinese team it would've been called exploit and fixed the very next week.Blizzard is just being lazy at this point.
New versions of "rezes, drums and talent tomes" were introduced with Shadowlands, no new versions of that old Tinkers were. People complaining about old expansion engineering stuff being sort of relevant are insane, engineering has no input in legendary making. Without old expansion stuff what does engineering has ? A wormhole, a battle rez, scopes for hunters, an helm and some bombs. Bombs are utterly useless; battle rez, wormhole and helm require engineering so you can't sell that; that leaves us scopes to make money of....You might as well remove engineering if we can't use old stuff and aren't making stuff we can do useful.
Dunno why people are upset about it, we should have more options like that for professions.
huh so it's less of the item being useful and more of it being bugged which makes it useful?well you learn something new lolI suppose Blizzard has better things to fix or they'll do it in 9.1
I don't get it though. How is the fact that an infinitely scaling challenge, with finitely scaling player power, means tanks are bad? Granted they may have to kite way earlier than intended, but if your goal is to push THE highest key possible with no attainable ending to the increase, of course it will reach a point where tanking is impossible. So you will absolutely reach a point where more and more unorthadox methods are needed to get higher key completions. Anyone who has played video games for at least some time knows, give gamers that kind of challenge and THEY WILL break systems to conquer the challenge. Similar to speedrunning, where getting certain times just becomes a race to who can find and/or accomplish the most game breaking time savers. So like, say tanks gain more tankiness? Then instead of them being unable to facetank upto like +18 and push to +26, they now facetank to +24 and push to +30. That is all that changes. You will never remove the tricks. And if you fix one trick, the players will madly scramble to find a new one. So its just a race to nerf everything into the ground. Also, like, this is one of the few times FUN DETECTED wasn't a meme response They embraced something cool players found to essentially increase the competitive aspect of max level keys. Of course, there is always a loud as hell sect of players who whine about their game being ruined. If this item had been nerfed, the outcry of negativity would be just as bad.
Then why the $%^& they gutted drums, scrolls, other enchants etc.wtf is wrong with this company
Imagine tanking as a tank, what a world we live in.
so... they are sticking with the name, huh? well... the pen is prolly already painting ("der stift malt schon" <- google that)
I think old enchants still being useful is great for an MMO. Stuff like that has always been part of the experience for me. But I can absolutely understand why some might not like it.
If utility exists people will use it for competitive advantage.Make tanks tankier and they will still use this to push another boundary.I actually think the utility is fun and if I had to find problems with it as is fashionable they would be:Profession inequity - Only one profession gives you a fun and useful long CD belt ability that you can use to help you in M+.+Weak Combat resurrection+Engineering can also turn off the annoying slime in DoS.The other professions bring nothing to the table besides some gold savings. So if you are serious about M+ today you should be an engineer.Would be nice to see the other professions get some utility or alternatively for the engineering devices to be a non profession bound different CD to potion consumable (1H belt tinkers, CR items) giving engineers something to sell and not mandating one profession to any serious M+ player.ObscurityThat we are using an obscure enchant from several expansions ago because the utility is far better than the fairly lackluster Shadowlands belt tinkers. If they are happy with it existing give us a newer version of it.This would also signpost to people who have been uncertain on changing profession around it that it is here to stay and they can safely do so.A statement of intent or some communication would be nice for the players who have a lot tied up in existing profession choices.
