I am a little iffy on the account-wide achievements. While I'd love to suddenly have all my achievement mounts, pets, titles, etc. on all of my toons, it would feel a little cheap to me. I'd take it, of course, but it would feel like a handout. The ones that really concern me, though, are the achievements that people use as proof that they know the fights in a given raid. That worries me, because I know from experience that I am not equally good at this game on all of my toons. At the end of ICC, my hunter was 11/12 HM in Icecrown Citadel, and I was pretty confident bringing her into any raid situation. I was nowhere near as good at my mage, and so even though she had decent gear from badges and repeated farming of the first 4 bosses, I wouldn't dream of bringing her to anything that was going to try more than 6 -7 bosses, because I didn't want to drag them down.Just because someone knows the ranged DPS part of a fight, doesn't mean that they'll perform well as the healer, tank, or melee. I am sure there are aspects of fights that I have done a thousand times, that I don't know because I never tanked them, or healed them. And while I am honest about it, I know there are a lot of people who will just hope to sneak in and get some gear, even if it means getting carried or wiping the raid.

Hrm... Perhaps Blizzard asnwered so lamely because they wanted to hide the fact that achievments add a rediculous amount of extra hours into the time that people already spend playing WoW? After all, they really want people to keep playing WoW, and to give them reasons to cling to it, such as "Oh, I've got so many achievments, and so many characters! How could I possibly leave?". You jelly?Edit: fixed typos.
"This is a tough one. On the one hand, we know there are a lot of players who would still like to get their hands on these mounts. On the other hand, we were pretty clear that they would only be available for a limited time, and we hate to go back on our word because we know some groups went through heroic efforts to get them before the door closed. This is the kind of thing that is not set in stone and player feedback might eventually convince us to change our minds."So, wait, they could make it so that Ulduar/ICC/80 roic glory achievements still give mounts, yet they couldn't do the same for Naxx?Hmm.
And made these achievements into "feats of strength", locking away the achievement in the basement and stripping the achievement of its score in the process. So none will ever see a grayed out icon. And noone will be missing score because they actually never did this part of the game.
