I think it has been touched a lot already but I don't think it's an unreasonable request to not want Blessing of Seasons to look and feel like the shadowlands ability. Flavor has been my biggest issue with covenant abilities since being announced and wanting something on brand to your class seems perfectly reasonable to me.*Edit: and just because all of the covenant abilities were abilities that existed for their classes for the last two years doesn't make them feel anymore within theme then they did two years ago. Felt a little tone deaf of a response tbh.
I am becoming increasingly concerned that this talent revamp project isn't going to work out. Well, it's working out for some classes. Just not Paladin so much. All 4 trees (class and 3 specs) are pretty bad. The paladin tree has FIVE POINTS dedicated to static, passive secondary stats. And then lucky Ret gets a 6th point they can spend for 2% mastery too. So it's obvious they ran out of ideas. They also seem to be forgetting spell ranks and entire spells from the build. Paladin seems to have the most bricked and NYI abilities, so it can't even really be tested properly. It's like they aren't even sure what the class is supposed to do anymore.Yes there's still lots of development time but so far I'm incredibly unexcited, unimpressed, and considering switching mains away from Paladin for the first time in nearly twenty years. Because it certainly looks like other classes have Developers who think "fun first", Whereas Paladin has someone who thinks spending 6 talent points for 2% haste, 2% crit, 2% armor, 2% speed, 2% avoidance and some mastery was a good idea. Some one get these Devs some mushrooms or something, they need a dose of creativity and ideas. The Paladin tree in the DF alpha is an absolute embarrassment in its current state especially when compared to the elegant design of some other class trees. And that said, I actually APPRECIATE they're trying to offer two different styles of Holy Pal.. That's more than they've accomplished for the other 2 Paladin specs.
Ahh the paladin devs continue to show how incompetent they are, well done.Maybe ret can get some love for the first time in damn near a decade, it will be 10 years+ if rets bad in DF.
What a joke. I love how Holy gets multiple replies easily, but Retribution? Lol... nothing at all, while multiple extremely well-reasoned replies with many potential solutions and ideas for dead and/or boring talents as well as structural pathing changes for the talent tree are on that thread.
blizzard saying how lazy they are without saying they are lazy again...
To be honest I'd like to see blessings of seasons in the prot paladin tree. Not for much else but to screw with people whole there is nothing better to do in the fight. But as someone who's played venthyr for the entirety of SL I'd love to see Ashen Hallow added in the class tree (not tied to a spec please).
Why do we get as Paladin not the same dev energie like the Hunter? They geed feedback, the dev of them listen to the comunity and response. I like this style of together! The Paladins get to listen "Our design is..." answers.
I hope they'll take a serious look at Ellesmere's proposal. He's spent quite some time on it and while not perfect, it brings a lot of great ideas. Else, it's so refreshing to see them being reactive and willing to change things up.
