Here's a quick copy/paste from Role Specific Mechanics tab for Raszageth fight, for heroic there's one notable addition other than usual higher hp/damage and that is a debuff with negative/positive charges and if you get close to the opposite one, it hurts.
Well, I hope the private auras are of mechanics that'd be fun to learn and play around with.
A lot of people seem to misunderstand this change. They will only disable events for specific mechanics that allow you to do heavy computational stuff that solves the boss for you.WeakAuras that play sounds and give you a short explanation of whats about to happen will still remain. In exchange for removing those events, we get to specify where these specific debuffs appear on our screen so we can still track them.Might affect customization though for those specific ones like not able to attach a sound to it etc. For example, if they disable events for bombs on jailer then:- you probably won't see accurate BW/DBM timers for it, unless they manage to base the timer off another ability- you probably won't be able to attach a sound etc to that specific debuff unless they add some customization options
Whil I do agree something needs to be done, I hope they make mechanics a bit less complicated if they neuter add-ons and WAs. I couldn't even imagine doing some of the mechanics the past couple xpacs without them. I sucked so hard at soccer in Nyalotha until getting a WA, for instance.
I have a feeling that some people are misunderstanding what this means. Weakauras and addons will still work, they will just be able to block the ones that literally break the mechanics faster. Your raid leader will still expect you to have all the available tools at your disposal. We are not going back to Classic era of raiding where bosses were glorified trash mobs. If that's what you want to play you have lower difficulties or just straight up Classic WoW.
It's nice to see Blizz finally taking a more proactive stance against these addons by starting to limit what they can do, without just breaking them completely.
So glad I don't participate in mythic raiding lol
You say you want to raid, but then you get addons to do all the organizing bs for you, so you can just coast through the whole raid like your regular lfr hero...
Honestly, if you can't clear raids without WA or DBM/BigWigs, you're bad at the game and none of your arguments really matter here. It's about time Blizzard started doing something about the increasingly massive addon automation problem. If you can't beat encounters without addons playing for you, you don't deserve to beat them. The raids don't need to be made easier if they cripple WA, you just need to learn to play the game
When you suddenly find yourself removed from a raidgroup because you don't have an addon installed to tackle a $%^& mechanic requiring it because it's not possible to proceed otherwise, it's not even a skill issue anymore but an accessibility problem.
If this means we're finally going to move away from the bloated, overcomplicated, poorly communicated encounter design of modern WoW; great. Would be great to actually be able to play the game again instead of perpetually dodging swirlies and other nonsense, only to die because player #14 messed up obtuse one-shot mechanic #27 in this raid. But knowing blizzard everything will stay just as bad as it's been for the past 4 or 5 expansions, just with the added annoyance of not having weak auras for specific nonsense mechanics Blizzard has deemed "private" for no sensible reason....
Finally, people will be forced to use their brains again... somewhat...
