Just laughing at all the hand clenching cope coming from the advertising side. Everything is fine for them so long as they get their monthly gold. “We want our rewards to mean something! All the content means nothing cause too many people have rewards and there are too many difficulties.” *then turns around to boost people to 50 wins at 2400 in 3s (current requirement, obviously different for before), full clears mythic raid to then hand mount over and carries up to +24s*. Absolute blinders on when it comes to understanding their part in the system.Absolute spit in the face to for those of us trying to go after rewards (like say azeroth’s champion) and then to see people on the list having no pvp experience get a random corrupted gladiator proto; have 1 mythic azshara run; and have exactly 12 +15s done in order to get that achievement. I didn’t get the title but at least I am proud of not getting a boost for the 10 rank 4s (only missing 2400) I did get through my own effort.
I fail to see the problem with this ban
Blizzard should make a booster channel--or at least an LFG-esque sort of means for a person to intentionally view/advertise boost/sales runs. That being said... it blows my mind that people make such a 'job' out of this stuff. All for fictional currency (which, yeah, I know, it can be exchanged for real currency via tokens or whatnot that can effectively pay for a WoW sub). But still... good grief. What happened to just playing the stinking game rather than looking to buy your way through it (ie, buyers)? What happened to playing the game for enjoyment rather than some economical hustle (ie, sellers)?I can't imagine being tied up in some kind of gold sales system. Yikes.
Finally! keep report them!
Good, now ban the bots with more frequency so they dont have time to get the gold back to buy wow tokens.
Good.
WTH is wrong with people commenting on this that think this is "just" or okay at all? did they even read the article? this is I N C R E D I B L Y unfair and NOT okay on the blizzard CS employees that handled this. I sincerely hope this gets rectified ASAP and applaud wowhead for bringing it to community attention. If any of these people that are saying LOL GOOD had this happen to them they would probably completely fall apart or rage much harder than the person this actually happened to.But also why am I surprised? these are literally the same people who think "multiboxing is against the rules" despite blizzard specifically stating that that statement is false in the same post containing the ACTUAL ToS change regarding input broadcasting. There is NO reason for this severe a punishment for an unannounced change and there is NO reason for such inconsistent penalties given to people for the exact same thing.People got a warning for input broadcasting. In fact, action wasnt taken until they continued to be found broadcasting AFTER getting PERSONALLY warned by a GM the first time they were reported/busted using broadcasting software after the ToS change.Honestly the hate people have toward people who are better at the game than them (and able to sell carries like the people in this group) never ceases to amaze me :\

They deserved it advertising doesnt mean open 10 accounts and spam 7/24 in trade chat in different servers.
Banning someone who didn't actually break any rule is not okay; Regardless of what you think about selling boosts for Gold, or advertising trades in trade chat, this could have been handled better by the GM's involved and will hopefully get reviewed and their earned and owed gold back.
A majority of people in that /r/wow thread are really missing the point of the post. They're mindlessly cheering it because they're mad over gold-related boosting spam on their realms. It's fine to be mad about that. That's not really what's in dispute here, though. If Blizzard doesn't want this to be a thing in the game anymore, they're well within their rights to do so - see the recent multiboxing TOS change. What isn't OK is the disparate punishments being meted out between different people, and more so, doing this out of nowhere with no TOS announcement and potentially ruining thousands of man-hours of people in game. I suspect if they were on the receiving end of this for something they enjoyed doing, they might feel different, but so many people are so very myopic these days. This is like cheering the police coming and hauling your annoying neighbor off on a quietly passed new law that your house can't be the color green and no one knew about it, never mind that they might decide the next illegal color is blue and you're next.
