I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of mages suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something wonderful has happened.
Now this is good news !
excellent. mage boosting ruined the open world leveling experience
the time of the mage is over, long live the paladin.
no more jokerd mara :(
I believe this pertains to new Classic Era Mastery servers not TBC. So pally boosts won't be a thing.
(Poor) mages would need some alternative sources of gold then, something like 30g/hr world quest! Otherwise there won't be gold in economy :o
as a classic mage main, this is great to hear. however, level boosting should have been killed off day 1 in classic, and it needs to go on all classic/bc realms, not just this seasonal one.
The reason people mage boost is because open world $%^& is terrible. People will find another way to boost or simply not play.
It's great that Blizzard are taking a serious look at dungeon boosting, I think there is one clear and easy fix that can be made: - If a player is ~5 levels over the maximum Meeting Stone level then no one in the group can get XP.In my opinion increasing open-world/quest XP rates would never stop dungeon boosting. If Blizz are taking a seasonal approach to Classic then I think they really need to listen to the community that loves Vanilla, and not pander to the tourists. People love the Vanilla levelling experience, and right now the majority of players on Classic Era are Hardcore players. Increasing XP rates is not desired by the communities that love Vanilla.I am not saying #NoChanges, but I think if we're getting a seasonal approach to Vanilla we need to focus on changes that people who are invested in playing over and over long term want.
It's way too late for this sort of thing. I think classic hype is kind of dead and "season of mastery" doesn't appear to have any new content. Most of those who were interested in classic already did it, or were turned off by Blizzards acceptance of bots and RMT... neither of which are going to be addressed.
I have one single friend looking towards this and he is excited as ll hell.
fine. let me pay $50 to boost to cap/near cap 1 month after release. leveling is terrible and boring in the open world, especially the 30th time through. god bless you if you play this game to level, but i play to pvp and raid.
This vanilla reset concept looks better and better..But: Use the beta! Listen to feedback and give players what they want. This is the first sample we get from "new blizzard". Show the same old "you think you want it but you don't" arrogance and I am out, this time for good.
Reduce XP earned while in a party, increase XP earned from dungeon quests. This will not only nerf boosting, but also make people actually care about dungeon quests, because last time, little to nobody would go out of their way in dungeons to do quests. Also, make several realm groups, enabling cross-realm chat and grouping, so that individual realms will have lower open-world population, but it will be easier to find a dungeon group. And finally, randomise that AQ War Effort materials.
