FIrst of all, you guys are all taking an item on Alpha (!) way too seriously. It could end up going to live as-is, or it could be like the current gem adding items, where you buy it from a vendor, for some type of currency. On the other hand, we have no idea how many item slots we'll even be able to socket gems to. It could be that we get 3 gem slots on neckpieces, at the cost of not being able to socket helms and/or bracers, for example. In any case, and this is very important, this is only Alpha. Literally everything can be wildly different, on release day, from what we are seeing now.
This is cool, will that mean rings can get 3 sockets to - how about other stuff we are used to having sockets like wrists and helmets?
So socket from JewelcratingI believe that following would make more sense:Socket from Engineering (drill)Indestructibility either from that armor type crafting OR Alchemy3rd stats added by Inscription (Inscription of Leech, Avoidance, Speed)and you can add Enchant, socket, Indestructibility and 3rd stat on every item which didn't get it from drop
JC coming back <3
The description is vague. What does it mean by an "end-game Necklace"? Required level 70? Epic quality? Raid only? What's with the versions? And the amount of sockets depends on the quality of the craft, or the necklace?Looking forward to learning more about the item, and if other professions will get a similiar "end-game" boost.
A step in the right direction! Bring back sockets to all slots!
More gems please
Hopefully we see more gems across gear in general, even if it's only secondary stats so we can fill in the gap of the stats we need, it adds another layer that's always fun to play with.
socket to me!
I'm guessing that this is one of the things they were talking about testing the balance on in the interviews. Start with an high value, and then dial back if it's too OP.As someone who loves Professions, this IS a good change. On a low pop realm with many crafters, I'm swimming in raw gems, people are selling the raw and cut gems for less than the Vendor Price + AH fee (and sometimes even less if they fail to sell & you lose your deposit). I reckon I have about 50,000g worth of vendor trash at the end of this expac. as I have so many from prospecting ore for levelling up Legendary crafting...For raiders/M+ers/PvPers worried about gem price: remember that next patch we get region wide Auction House for commodity items. It's likely to be "who can post for the least gold" that you end up buying once the start-of-expac profession levelling rush is over. I.e. 90% of the expansion.
Hope that this item will not be soulbound, in my opinion have sockets only on rings and neck would be better, like... just 3 itens to focus on that mechanic not 6 like we have in the moment. Would be cool if they add gems with different effects too, not only stats. Things like this make the professions more active imo, now they need to make engineering and fishing usefull
I hope this means a return to prominence for jewelcrafting. It's been downhill since TBC, just as inscription has been since Wrath. Used to be sockets everywhere, or different glyphs that made actual differences and now neither is really important all that more.
