All zones are now available for testing in the Dragonflight Alpha. One side questline found in Ohn'ahran Plains has us teaming up with a very good boy and rewards a special toy,
Taivan's Trumpet
.
Taivan the Big, Good, Gentle Bakar
Bakar - large doglike creatures - are a common sight in Ohn'ahran Plains. Many act as hunting companions to the centaur, while others help the centaur mind their flocks. One unusually large bakar can be found in the centaur settlement of Maruukai, where he seems to be frustrating his centaur minder - Hunter Selbekh - who has been unable to find a use for him.
Hunter Selbekh says: Taivan has just never really been good at anything. He's huge, clumsy, and requires so much food every day.
Hunter Selbekh says: My kind has no use for mounts like yours, and it is the Maruuk way that everyone in the clan must contribute. Even our animals.
Selbekh asks us to take Taivan to various other centaur, to see if they are able to train him. Unfortunately, despite his size, he shows himself far too gentle to make an effective hunting bakar.
Taivan whimpers, unwilling to fight back!
Return to the Teerai and tell them that not even I can train taivan to be a hunter. He simply does not have it in him. He is the most un-ferocious bakar I have ever seen, and I bet he would even try to make friends with the wild game if we let him! Hah!
Next, you try to see if Taivan can make a good herding bakar - but with much the same results. Taivan is, at first, confused, and ultimately too gentle to effectively herd anything.
Taivan looks like he's trying to play with the ram!
The Stubborn ram readies itself to fight for dominance of the herd!
Taivan whimpers, unwilling to fight back!
Sorry, friend, but I don't think Taivan is cut out for this. He's a very nice bakar, but doesn't quite seem smart enough to figure out how to get the argali into the pen, or aggressive enough to take command of the herd away from the ram.
At this point, a messenger arrives with urgent news - there has been an attack on a nearby camp. You rush off to help, leaving Taivan behind on Selbekh's orders.
Teerai Messenger says: Taivan, Selbekh has ordered you to stay put with Tevatei.
Teerai Messenger says: She says she doesn't want him getting in the way.
Taivan whimpers pathetically.
Once again, Taivan seems unable to follow orders. The gentle bakar rushes to help. Though some of the centaur have been crushed under fallen beams, Taivan's large size allows him to easily lift the beams off the wounded and even carry the centaur to safety.
As it turns out, Taivan might not be a good hunter or herder bakar, but he does make a perfect rescue bakar.
Taivan says: Aroooooo!
Healer Selbekh says: Look at him. He's so proud of himself!
Healer Selbekh says: I admit I feel quite foolish, <name>.
Healer Selbekh says: I was about ready to send Taivan away, when he just needed the chance to prove himself.
Healer Selbekh says: He is very strong; strong enough to move heavy debris and strong enough to carry a full-grown centaur.
Healer Selbekh says: And he is very brave. Brave enough to charge right through hot flames!
Healer Selbekh says: These qualities will make him an excellent rescue bakar, so I did not know to look for these qualities.
Healer Selbekh says: How closed minded I have been!
Healer Selbekh says: Thank you for opening my eyes, <name>.
In the end, Taivan further proves himself when he is the only one who is able to help a young, traumatized centaur who has been unresponsive ever since they lost their parents.
Taivan gently rests his massive head next to Chimei.
Chimei slowly reaches out a hand, and begins stroking Taivan's soft fur.
Taivan inches even closer, so his whole body is resting against Chimei's.
Chimei begins to come out of their state of shock.
Chimei says: Hi there, pup. What's your name?
Healer Selbekh says: By the Wind Mother!
Healer Selbekh says: This is Taivan, and I am Selbekh. You're safe in Maruukai now.
Chimei says: Hi Taivan. I'm Chimei.
Chimei says: Miss Selbekh?
Healer Selbekh says: Yes, Chimei?
Chimei says: Can I have something to eat?
Selbekh bursts into tears.
Healer Selbekh says: Of course you can, child! Of course you can.
On completion of this questline, players are rewarded with
Taivan's Trumpet
, a toy that lets you summon Taivan to your side! True to his nature, Taivan will not attack any creatures or be aggressive in any way, but his presence will be comforting for anyone around him - raising the versatility of anyone near by 1!

That is the most disgusting model I've seen so far in Dragonflight
WTF are you talking about? It's a dog in a fantasy world.
And there are dogs IRL that look kinda similar...
how DARE someone not feel the exact same way about everything as you do !
just because something exists "IRL" doesn't mean it's automatically good.
No, it's just because your post is one in a long streaming gush of noxious, negative comments that seem tailor made to drag down anyone's pleasure about this game for no good reason. Your comment is not constructive in the least. So don't complain when people call you out.
Exactly. If you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. People are dying to know how awful you think everyone is. This is a wow fansite. A site for the fans by the fans. Fans meaning people who enjoy the game. This isn't WorldofWarcraft.com

While the original comment wasn't exactly the best (and I don't even really agree with it), it's NEVER a good idea to only allow positive comments. That attitude makes the game stagnate, because the devs become complacent and don't feel the need to improve. Players MUST point out any perceived flaw so that they're corrected and we end up with the best possible game.
Seriously. After the last two expansions, imagine how WoW would be right now if players wouldn't have been allowed to say anything about it, and only the comments saying how good BfA and Shadowlands are were allowed because "if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all".

I hope they add hundreds of these models and have a set to 12 colored pets to collect.

Getting triggered cause someone personally dislikes a dog model really describes the Wow community in a nutshell lol
Randomly being negative about something inconsequential is closer to describing the WoW community in a nutshell. Just let people enjoy things. You don't need to speak up about your dislike of an art asset on a videogame news website.

If you can't handle a negative opinion on something you enjoy on an open forum, especially something as inconsequential as this then you shouldn't be online. There will be comments both positive and negative. Deal with it, people won't change to fit your sensibilities.

People can like or dislike whatever they want, that's how it goes. That said, it's the wow community. Someone is gonna latch onto something to complain/dislike. It's just part of the game at this point.
